Omg when I heard you mention my channel, I paused, ran to my husband, and made him watch the rest with me 😂 I needed someone else to see how big my smile was!! I would LOVE to hear an episode from you about Norwegian yarn ❤❤❤

I do the same with my hair. I grow it and then chop it off and donate. I'm getting mine done next week, color and cut. I have what my spouse dubbed, "my retirement fund." So when I retire (hopefully in 10 years), I will not have the income I have now, but I will have a healthy yarn stash to use.

Very glad to hear someone question endless stashing. From perspective of 66 yrs with bone on bone in thumbs, there does come a time when buying expensive things and seeing it go for pennies at estate sales just stabs a sz1 needle to the heart. Hope the neighbors settle down. Not much better here in Nov crazy neighbors daughter torched his truck at 0200 waking me up, have been annoyed by their ever loose chihuaua then "someone" stabbed all 4 tires on my van, police said most likely that family but no support. They have driven 4 dogs so crazy they then turn them loose to roam and the pitbull attacked my dog who was wrapped around my legs, 2 other people before destroyed. The last was beautiful GSD so frightened but aggressive tried to attack my smaller dog as I came out my door, that is now finally gone. I like goats ever so much more than people.

I'm very pro-knitting/crochet and very anti-arsonists. So this episode was a win-win for me!

Loved the discussion about the stash and ethics of wool. I found myself influenced into building a stash, and having all the yarn around is actually quite stressful for me. It can get me into a "binge" mentality, where I feel like I need to knit a lot and fast so that I can reduce my stash. On the other hand, it's fun to buy one skein of something to try or because it's pretty. Friends and family can always get more hats, mitts, socks, etc. I think sweater quantities are where it gets tricky for me. I personally LOVE more scripted, educational content.

Your hair cut looks great! Thank you for your podcast. Your crochet basket will keep its shape better. Sometimes they tend to bulge at the sides if they are the same circumference all the way up.

Crochet tip, the yarn on the hook should look like a teardrop if you are looking down the end. Helps keep your tension even and leaves room for the hook and yarn.

I love your hair, long or short, you look lovely! Try using a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush to detangle your hair after washing. The little sweater is to die for! I have to make one for my great-nephew. Don't worry if it seems too big because children are adorable in oversized garments. My take on yarn stash is this; it keeps the industry alive, which provides for the families raising the sheep for the wool. Sheering the sheep does not hurt them and has been done for hundreds of years. Stash on!

I love your podcast. So interesting and I learn so much. I love the shape of your crochet basket. The smaller circumference at the top gives it more character. Very inspirational.

Lovely idea about donating your hair Eli, I willlook into the charity you mention. I got my v long hair cut for the first time, age 17. Almost 40 years later I get it out from time to time and it's extraordinarily 'alive'! I grow and cut on a similar cycle to you, but so much of my hair gets knitted into things I make 😂

They did a study that 1/3 of kids with tonsilitis scheduled for tonsil removal stop having tonsilitis and stop needing the surgery when the kid stops eating dairy. Likely the other 2/3 of kids had issues with other foods. Worth exploring an elimination diet to see if food is causing your tonsilitis. Auto Immune Protocol is be most thorough protocol I know of.

I love your conversation about stash. I also had a period of increased disposable income, and combined with online shopping during the peak of the pandemic being stuck at home, I now have quite a large stash! I'm trying not to buy anything new at this point, and to use up or get rid of the yarns that I don't like as much (ie - superwash yarns). I also have tried to make an effort to buy secondhand whenever possible. In the US, there's quite a few secondhand craft stores (like make and mend in MA) that sell online, and I've won some auctions at goodwill as well. Now I've had to cut myself off from buying secondhand because it's also addicting lol

Hi Eli, loving your podcast. I am quite interested in ensuring with welfare of hill sheep in Shetland for the wool trade. Especially as i am a non meat eater. Personally, i do prefer rustic yarns but i do possess other fibres. I am currently seeking small project to use up the odd balls of yarn to destash. I really like knitting little jackets for premmies❤❤❤
