I love SM33! In case you didn't catch it, that's a nod to First Mate Smee! From Peter Pan/Hook. Also, I am 400% certain that Jude Law isn't an actual Jedi, and is using little tricks up his sleeve to mimic being one, sorta like Kumail Nanjiani from Kenobi would do. He picked to show himself as a Jedi because he heard them talking about 'thinking they were in a Jedi temple' and he couldn't leave because he didn't have a ship, but also overheard that, and saw a chance to manipulate them into thinking he's a Jedi so at least one of them immediately trusts him.

I love the reveal that At Attin is from the Old Republic and presumably hasn’t been visited by outsiders in thousands of years. They had already announced that the planet was the “Crown Jewel of the Old Republic” but I just interpreted that as a famous planet during the Old Republic known for progress which is why it has a suburban aesthetic, wasn’t even sure if it was THEE Old Republic or just pre-Clone Wars. The droid not knowing clued me in that it had to have crashed a long time ago, but that lady not knowing At Attin at all told me it was more than that. I didn’t realize it was the “Crown Jewel of the Old Republic” because it literally is a lost treasure planet that hasn’t had outside contact for so many years. It could be possible you’re right about the New Republic knowing about it and using it for resources. I loved the detail that Old Republic credits are worth so much more because in Star Wars Outlaws you can occasionally collect those credits and sell them for a higher price. I believe each Old Republic credit is about 4 times as much as a present-day credit.
@HaydenWerrenАй бұрын
Not sure if At Attin was actually Old Republic. After all in A New Hope, Obi-Wan and Tarkin both referred to the Republic seen in the prequels as the Old Republic.
@fusionaddictАй бұрын
Note that the “Old Republic credits” have the Clone Wars era insignia on them. I don’t know if it’s been isolated QUITE that long. I dunno, I’m getting a really sinister vibe from that planet, what with the isolationism and the VERY aggressive security droids. Especially the second part. It’s established canon that after the Clone Wars, droids are rarely trusted with anything other than menial tasks.

The old republic in this context means the republic we saw in the prequels which was 1,000 years old,the republic which existed prior to the establishment prequels' Galactic Republic a thousand years ago is referred as the old republic by the fans,however in the in-universe context during the Imperial and New Republic era the prequel's republic was simply referred to as the old republic ,for them the old old republic from KOTOR is probably ancient . You can also see the symbol on the "old republic credits" in the second episode which is very clearly the Republic insignia we saw in the Prequels/Clone Wars

I know a lot of people don't think Jude Law's character is actually a jedi, but to me that's the only thing that would explain his sudden interest in escaping when he could've tried to escape already. A bunch of kids in trouble is exactly what a downtrodden hero would need to kick themselves back into gear. If he's really a jedi who turned to piracy in dark times, he probably feels pretty shit after that mutiny as it would be like losing everything all over again. Why would a depressed jedi pirate even want to escape? To save the lost children, of course!
