You really have to be educated to care for a horse properly. I never really knew how much went into it. Grass was grass, hay was hay, etc. I have learned so much, just watching your channel. You take such good care of your beautiful animals. I am 61 years old. I have always loved horses. I've never owned one, and I dont think I ever will, but I did have the privilege of riding my friends horse when I was a girl. I remember watching an auction you went to where these magnificent horses were selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. They were beautiful animals but... there is beauty in all animals. I think I would be just as happy owning a $100 dollar horse as I would be $100k horse.

I am a new subscriber and LOVE your channel. I love watching the 'Series' Episodes on each Horse. Better than Netflix. I have 1 question though: Do you ever sell a horse once you rehab it ? or do you keep them forever ? I imagine either way, the costs must be astronomical.

She has some who will stay forever and some that she will sell when they learn enough manners that they will never ever be sold for slaughter. Long into their future, horses who are kind and rideable are very desirable. Thus, horses that CC trains will likely have good lives with decent owners. Yes, she does sell horses when they are appropriate for many levels of riders. CC mentions it in a lot of videos. If you watched Goose's story, she included an auction horse called Leonard, who was trained and ready for a new home in like 3 months. She keeps the very reactive ones (like Pete and Goose) because not many people could home them safely. As to finances, CC has made several videos on the subject-- check them out! Very interesting & inspiring!

@@BB-dr5jo @marieparsons9908 - I just wasn't completely sure. While I have watched enough to know that Frisco Bill is CC's original and long term keeper, I just wasn't sure about some of the others. I love watching their recoveries and the progress that they make along with all of the hard work that CC puts in. It's incredible. Using my own experiences, as mine have more to do with dogs, I just can't part with them once they are mine and part of my pack. Girls may have 'Horse Problems' but Boys have something similar with Dogs. It's also one of the reasons that I have the utmost respect for Vets, EMTs, Doctors etc. They are able to compartmentalize feelings and remain professional through the good and bad, like I have seen thus far from CC. I simply can not. I am too big of a baby.

I hear you! I was a vet tech for a while (back in the late 1990s) and had to quit, it got to be too much. Much respect to all who do those jobs! I am now a very proud foster fail x 3 dogs and a cat 😁 No horses at the moment, so CC is helping so much with that!

This was a fascinating podcast. The information you gave on grasses and the varieties of grasses was very interesting. Your veterinarian skills and your unique style is both helping horses and in a funny odd way, training people. People could be putting their horse out to pasture to feed o n grass not realizing they're actually hurting their horse. Wow! I did not know that. Skeletor is turning out to be a beautiful horse and I'm thinking that you're really gonna be able to help him become totally well and rideable. Fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing
