The idea that Members can’t see those documents until they “ reach a certain level” sounds a lot like Scientology

We need to eliminate government tax support for religion, and strengthen fraud laws such that lying for money is generally illegal, even when wrapped in religion.

It is truly amazing to a nonbeliever what people can be induced to believe by promising them immortality. Anyone can save themselves a lot of grief by facing the fact that they will live and then they will actually die.

this is very informative, must now read the book. This is fascinating, wish some non Opus Dei large wheels in Washington could be spurred to give their thoughts on all this. What do big cheese people in society, the high muckety mucks who are normal Roman and regular Catholics, what do they think about the main revelations in this book? And we don't have any "religious scholars" who are today, tip of my tongue, respected minds to reach out and get their reaction to this book. I was atheist, then 27 years a Scientologist, then returned to hard core atheist, and now last couple years studying the wealth of Pali Canon Buddhist translations, and so I'm on the Buddhist path (still with heavy doubts about the supernatural aspects of Buddhism). Late in life I've concluded or retained or amplified my feeling that religions have to do good and make the world not kill itself. But now, late in life, religions have to be able to turn their members over to police/prosecutors and courts for punishment for felonies, somehow. Some horrible groups, the Scientology exposures, the top ranks violence trend under the leader Scientology still has, Scientology was too small time to self correct and depose their violent top boss, who is still in command, all those other top ranked Scientology leaders who witnessed and were beaten, have all been let go. To date, Scientology's leader who drove the nastiness, he's still there, the top ranks of Scientology have been decimated. Things have apparantly toned down, otherwise "we'd" have heard if the beatings and floor licking incidents have stopped. Religions cannot ever have a pass on hiding their followers' felonies. They have to usher their felony committing followers over to a country's justice system. (One nugget, I first hand experienced, while I was on the Scientology upper ranks "prison system" called the "Rehabilitation Project Force" one day I complained to my ethics guidance counselor that our Scientology "Office of Special Affairs" (the Scientology nasty "fair gaming" and "enemies of Scientology" destroying branch) was unlike ANY normal religion. My ethics guidance counselor, shot back immediately, he said "Opus Dei"! My ethics guidance counselor was Italian, he was demoted from the Scientology "Office of Special Affairs" nasty branch to be on the Rehabilitation Project Force, and this would be the Scientology equivalent, thus, of "busted" Opus Dei Scientologists doing their "redemption" prison like reform.) The world is way unfortunately nutty. Life is short, I'm back to studying Buddhism myself, glad Scientology is behind me, and I hope Opus Dei's effects, for real, are good. I'm always hopeful. (We'll all be dead and can't see if this swing to the extreme beliefs of the past are good, 100 hundred years from now. I chose Nibana/Nirvana to study as my escape from this nuttiness of the world.) If humanity is to draw any nuggets of good from religion, then just do so, and leave the nastiness of religions in the trash. I was so disappointed when I was young and learned the world couldn't agree about the big issues. Science seemed the only rational group of persons. "Scientology" turned out to be what any normal person never in Scientology thinks of it, it's a scam. Scientology sells supernatural pseudo-therapy and exorcism of Xenu's body-thetans dumped onto earth.....to amp up a person's supernatural soul powers, which of course never happens.

All religions are cults. It's obviously in our nature to want to believe in something better.

They moved in on Catholic student supporters of the UK Labour Party in the early 1980s. Many went on to prominent positions in politics and public life. I believe Tony Blair had associations with OD even before his conversion.

The Holy Roman Empire created the corporate monopoly………giving a group of investors like a king and his military attaches to establish colonies or created slave trades in a monopolized status guaranteed by the Papal Bull very much like the papal bull Dum Versas establishing slavery as a trade and giving permission to select companies that can participate in that business…..a monopoly is all it is…..and in the same way Great Britain or England gave permission or charters to their select companies or group of merchants and shipping industry to conduct business as an investor group creating the monopoly to create wealth while their laws prohibit that very activity for more than 90% of the rest of the population….

The concept is Integralism, where there is an interpretation of Catholic social teaching that argues the principle that the Catholic faith should be the basis of public law and public policy within civil society, wherever the preponderance of Catholics within that society makes this possible.

It's very popular, and indeed lucrative, to bash the Catholic church. Some of it is well deserved, to be sure. One of my grandfathers was a member of Opus Dei. I can testify that he was not a self-flagellating, murderous, albino monk, nor was he party to any conspiracy. The ideas behind "The DaVinci Code" were thoroughly debunked even before that hack Dan Brown wrote the book, yet when promoting that execrable waste of paper, he claimed that it was grounded in fact. He knew full well that it was a hoax perpetrated by two French guys. Gareth Gore is yet another person trying to make a load of money, as Dan Brown did, out of inventing a conspiracy.

Fun fact, Robert Hanson the American spy who got Americans killed was a member of opus dei, he confessed to his priest that he was in opus dei and the priest who was also in od said shhh, it was known for 20 years that he was spying and because of the OD Mafia nothing was revealed, but looking forward to your debunking video

The issue really is with aspects of Opus Dei that needs review and revising and not about the Catholic Church as a whole. But instead of reviewing and revising, OD seems to respond with defensiveness and hiding behind the catholic identity.
