I am starting a new sketchbook today and I will try to keep it neat, all my sketchbooks end up a bit messy and I don't show them to anyone, just to my little 6 year old neighbor, but she seems impressed by it so it is a bit of an ego booster...

eve ruby In my opinion, it’s okay if you are a little messy in your sketchbook. Maybe you can keep another sketchbook for just mainly doodles and studies where you can experiment all you want and be really messy, and then you can have a main sketchbook for nicer and neater pieces. That way you can both experiment more and improve quickly while keeping a nice sketchbook. :D

eve ruby I know this is like two months late but I just had to let you know that I LOVE messy sketchbooks. I literally don’t have one ‘neat’ one. Everyone uses them differently- don’t be ashamed of how you work if it’s the right way for you!!!
