Your skill with watercolor is impressive. I was surprised when you said you have difficulty with making meaning full art. Your art doesn't simply look pretty but speaks to me, like a story waiting to be told. It's hard to choose a favorite because I enjoy each painting. I like how much you experimented, there truly is something to be learned from each piece. Thank you for all the commentary & timestamps. I am always curious to hear an artist's thought process.

I've watched this video a few times in the past month. This sketchbook of yours is what inspired me to start my first watercolor sketchbook to pass down to my children and future grandchildren. I've started it. I'm a few works in and so excited about it! Thank you for the inspiration and for being real about your feelings and even your struggles. I appreciate all you share. Blessings to you and yours. ✌️ 💚 🙏🖖👏

I have no right to at all as we're not connected in any way except in our enjoyment of art BUT I am SO proud of you. I really enjoy seeing people who take their time to do studies and exercises to figure out what they like and why. It speaks of a seriousness and dedication to the craft. And that you're sharing your process and thoughts is very helpful. Thanks for this!
@JaneBeata2 жыл бұрын
Dear Rebekah, I take your comment as a great sign. It is hard to connect with people that you never met in person and the format I chose for my videos, sharing mostly my own process, can be boring for people to stick around. But on the other hand, this is what small parts of my art journey look like, its piece to piece, sketch to sketch and it might never lead to a great work but it's amazing for me to know that there are people who walk alongside and maybe even evolve their own art simultaneously.

Thank you soo much for sharing! Your paintings are so beautiful and I love the transformation of your pieces over time. And as always, I always appreciate hearing your thought process and insights on painting in general. Your persistence to persevere with a sketch book for 2 years is just impressive. I always find that I can't wait to finish a sketch book because I'm in such a rush to paint as much as possible and possibly a want to move on to the next best thing.

I always wondered how painters know what colours they have created. I found out that lots of swatches are created. I love that you have the swatches labeled with your mixes so that you can recreate the painting or someone else could. That's wonderful.

Your artwork is amazing and beautiful in many levels. And such wise words you shared that technique is a tool but the emotion/intention within us is what’s the most important part of art. I believe we all are made to be creative. Art invokes emotion - good, bad or indifferent…it invokes. Namaste 🙏

This is my first video from you, and the most poignant page was the one with the pink hibiscus. You stated that you didn't add much detail but the flowers stood out more than the technique done in the face. They looked thin papery and real like they were preserved and pressed in pages. I love how you draw your flowers and would love to see a live video someday

Jani I loved watching your sketchbook, especially the paintings we haven't seen before. My favourites are honouring Ukraine, girls with poppies (I love the repeating pattern and would love to see the whole process how you composed and sketched and painted;), the one thats green, I love the feel of it and the skin tone that goes so well with the green shades and also I love the one that you made with the cheap paints. I would love to see how far it can go with the proper paints. It's amazing to see the 'evolution' of your sketchbook, that it was supposed to be and what it is now (also love how you glued that one page, it just makes you little bit more like us watercolour mortals when we mess up;). I have said it before but your art is so inspiring with so much more to it than just the beauty. I remember the pink sketchbook from your insta stories and I can't wait to see the first page xxx
