Oh, I feel your pain on your little one not sleeping very well. I went through the same thing with my son. He didn't sleep through the night until he was over 2 years old. The blessings I had at that time was having to travel for work. That's when I was able to catch up on my sleep and my son's God Parents watched him. And I also feel you on being self motivated to drive yourself. I would put my son on my back and mow the yard, do the things I needed to do, clean, cook, take care of the dogs, etc. It was exhausting but at the end of the day seeing everything you accomplished was very gratifying. I would sit him in a chair outside of rooms and do the redecorating and such so he was calm and allowed me to do what I needed or wanted to get done. I was a single mom (still am) as well, but did have his God Parents helping me when needed. You are an inspiration!! Your spoken word and your art work helps us as viewers strive to be better artists. And always remember you are a blessing to those around you and to us here!!! You rock girl!!! I absolutely love this painting, by the way. The colors, abstractions all jump out!!! I'm also encouraged to try designing my own canvas as well. Some of the larger canvases out there just don't work as well as I'd like them to do so I'm definitely going to try this out. Take care lovely Jane!!!

@@tannismcfarren7891 yeah they do. I went to a therapist and she helped a great deal too. I am a little ashamed for complaining, makes me sound ungrateful, especially in the eyes of sick people or those without any fortune or family. I do realize how lucky I am.
@tannismcfarren78912 жыл бұрын
@@JaneBeata Never be ashamed for having a feeling :) That is lacking in the world these days. You can still be very grateful for the blessings you have while also struggling with other things. I know I sure do. There is always going to be someone better off then we are, or worse off then we are. The awesome thing is we KNOW our blessings and are grateful for them. I've never tried therapy, but did get on antidepressants. Helped immensely. Definitely has helped me deal with things in a much better way. I also envision wrapping up my problem or an issue I'm having in a nice little leather bag, tying a bow, and handing it off to the Man upstairs and letting Him deal with it, lol. Most of those things I can't control anyway. You got this!!!

First - I love thus painting. So much. Second - your feelings and struggles are valid. I understand how some advice - even though it is well meaning - can make you feel unseen or understood (having a rare neurological illness I get advice all the time). And having a good cry once in a while is a good way to get all the ICK out :). Thank you for all that you do and for all of the inspiration you provide.

This is a very beautiful piece! I feel your conflict between trying to maintain a home life w kids and an art side hustle. I have faced the same thing as my kids have grown from babies to teenagers. You absolutely have to invest in "you" or you will disappear. You have to make sacrifices on both sides and in different phases as your kids grow. I feed my "me" time and my husband fills in bc he understands I'm quirky and a creative. He gets if Mama is happy 😊, everyone is happy. The last 2 years, it's taken everything to start my own side hustle from planning, to marketing, to developing a product. It took a lot longer being a Mom and given those responsibilities, but I refused to give up or listen to the "noise" from the naysayers. Luckily, I've raised 2 kids that can now entertain themselves and enjoy doing art as much as I do. I taught them long ago that I am not their personal entertainment director. So, kudos to you. Your painting turned out beautiful and I really like your art style.

Thank you for talking about your family situation. I have two young kids as well and work full time in a job unrelated to art... it is so hard to find time to paint and balance a family. My kids make me so happy but the chaos is hard for us artists I think. I usually have to paint in 5 minute increments and it is so hard because I feel I could make my art so much better if I had the time. Your channel is so helpful to me and I am so grateful for the tips to make things easier.

Dear Jane, It's been a while. And you continue to grow and surprise me. What a beautiful portrait. I would have not imagined this kind of canvas was possible. And you should not sell it under priced if possible because it is amazing and it was a lot of work. We should learn to save up to pay the right price from our local artist and not ask them to lower the price. We don't ask our dentists or our schools to lower their prices, we don't ask the grocery store cashier to give us a lower price, we just pay. At most I would ask if they take credit cards or have a online store, but that's it.
