Oh wow Katie ~ this sketchbook tour brought back lots of lovely memories of past videos I’ve enjoyed watching! 🤩 Also loved your country scene using reference of when you went out for a walk early in the book; Plus gelly plate print - using gorgeous colours that tied in well with your lichen studies; oh your gelato testing page - I remember watching & loving in particular the apple & pear studies with all their textures! Stabilo page 🫶🏻, the double page spread with lots of lil scenes on how you use and layer mixed media… & then of course your recent final piece where you finish on a high with your gorgeous ‘river prompt’ 2 page spread! 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙

I'm currently using this sketchbook as an art journal/commonplace journal. Honestly, I have more art than writing or collage or anything in this one, but sometimes I use sketchbooks for more writing and a little art, depending on how I'm feeling. I've noticed I always buy this sketchbook around september-october. Idk why, but something about this time of year and this sketchbook is just absolutely magical to me. Not that it's the best paper ever.. it just I spires creativity in me.❤

I love that Kathy, a sketchbook is what you make it and I love that you can use it for whatever you need at the time, whether that's writing or journaling. I keep toying with the idea of a commonplace journal! Oh that's so interesting and lovely to hear, I definitely think there are 'seasons' in our art in terms of inspiration and so often cyclical! 💛

I’m at the end of your video and you’ve stop at the Red Panda page, wow are those guys adorable! You really captured their cuteness and have given them personality. I really enjoyed this sketchbook tour and love every single page. I wish I could have a sat next to you and we looked through it together. I would have told you everything that I loved as we went page by page. How creative it was that you painted and cut out that little bird under the tree! I just loved that!! There wasn’t anything that I didn’t find beautiful and creative ❤

The collaged bird worked so nicely and meant I could test out different placements, he actually had a friend that seems to have fallen off the page somewhere 🙈 I'll have to make a new one so he doesn't get lonely 😂

I just started using this exact sketchbook for the first time. I’m very impressed how well it handles wet media. I kind of miss the band but found a black rubber band in my junk drawer that works. Mine doesn’t stay open like yours but hopefully that’ll change as I use it more. Love this tour Katie!

So much fun to go through this book with you, especially when you stop on a page where I have done the same sketches in one of your sessions. I was also surprised each time you said "this is the first time I am using…" I thought you had been doing some of those mediums like the Kuretake watercolors for much longer.

You’ve mentioned you don’t like to use fixative to seal because of the smell, so do you wait till you’re done with the sketchbook and then use the fixative before retiring the sketchbook ? Loved the video and would love to see more snow/winter scenes!

I usually don't do it straight away but mostly because I forget to 🤣 For a sketchbook like this I don't wait til I'm finished as it's not a daily sketchbook so I can spray it and come back to it after a few days when the smell has dissipated! I would work in another sketchbook in the meantime 😊 Thank you so much for watching, I definitely paint more seasonal so I'm sure there'll be some wintery scenes coming up 😄

I wondered the same, Tombow makes a number of different products but they are best known for their water-based brush markers.

They are water-based brush markers, the full name is Tombow ABT Dual brush pens! I often forget that I shorthand it to Tombows 🙈
