additionally: I saw you have a sale currently on your store, but I didn't hear you mention it in the video (skipped some parts, so not sure), so for everyone: Its a great time to support Sketchy since the projects are now currently even cheaper available! :)

good job on the tutorial :) I always find it to be a little frustrating, that tutorials get great results within a couple of minutes, while in reality you need to spend way more time for projects. As you mentioned, it first took you like 5 hours. Thats normal, maybe even quick for such a project, if it includes creating the concept. I am scared of the day my clients find these tutorials and are like: hey, why do we have to pay you a couple of hours if its that easy :D

Thanks! Yeah I get what you mean, I spent maybe 5 - 6 hours the first render and then on the second (the cylinder one I created here) I spent a few hours one night and about another 3 - 4 the day after. If I make the tutorial an hour and a half there's people that say it could have been done in 20 minutes, I just try to tinker less in tutorials... If I keep going back to a material and changing it, it'd just drive people nuts so I kind of have to drop things and keep it moving even If I don't like it. It is a tool of the trade though, this being the 4th time attempting the render, I knew where I was going and I had memorized some of the values & noise types to get as close to my result as possible. I'd always encourage experimentation though as that's how I got my result to begin with, just hours and hours of tinkering.

@@Sketchyvisuals I know what you mean, its not like you have a big choice to make about the length. Your tutorials are not for complete beginners, so its important to skip certain steps to not bore and lose most of your viewers. And since your videos are mostly about certain techniques, which I like, its great to check them out even as an advanced user, because there is always something to learn. What I don't like is when people give a tutorial on a specific artwork and the steps they took, but in the end it looks way worse then their previous result, because they skipped to much of the work.

If youre looking for the trees search ALTER 49, they have a free tree pack you can utilise just by merging them into the same project. Saves buying the plugin if you cant afford it
@gois1278 ай бұрын
thank you so much, found ALTER49 on gumroad and got the tree pack, not for free though, but that's more than fair enough. :)

If I wanted to follow this tutorial, do I buy your material library for this project? I'd like to follow along and build from scratch

Awesome tutorials mate! I am a redshift user but always enjoy your designs and following along for the tips/tricks. In saying that, can these assets be converted for redshift?
