Ski Doo Electrical Gremlin (speedometer)

Nicks 2004 SkiDoo Mxz-X 600ho renegade started to experience some electrical gremlins last year. He though his sled was broken. I told him it was the battery from day one but He insisted "this battery's not even a year old,, blah blah blah".... so he went and spent a whole bunch of money and tore this POS all apart and then realized that I was right. Maybe next time people will listen.

I’m having some of the same symptoms with my 06 mxzx sdi. We stopped in trail and when restarted giving it throttle just bogged it out. I did get it home at high rpms but the minute it idled it would stall out. Pulled rave valves and cleaned. Changed plugs, belt. Started it up. Idled strong..took it for a ride down and back the minute it stopped it stalled. Lights were flickering and check engine light came on. Again started ran okay the just idled out. If the battery IS the issue this will be second one I’ve bought for this machine. 🤞

Hi i have ab 05 mxz 800 ho it starts lights dim speedo freks out and wont go past 3000 rpm brought it to dealership to program dess key they tried and could not program it what is the issue just got this sled and cant ride it help

I'm having a issue with a 2003 mxz 600 ho rev where when I rev it up the lights dim amd the switches flicker. I'm gonna try changing the r2 relay then the regulator and the battery. I just bought this sled and it's piss in me off. It starts up every time with the electric start and I can ride it around just does not show a charge. I work on bikes so I'll eventually get it I think but it's piss in me off. Also my brake light won't light up which I think is just the brake switch .

i bought a new mxz 583 back in 98, had all kinds of electrical problems, took it to a dealer 4 times they couldn't fix it. it turns out the wires in the handle bars weren't protected properly and they were shorting out on the handle bar. This is with a brand new sled, I'm the one who had to fix it did anybody measure the internal resistance on these bad batteries?

Napa Echlin part AR201 or Carquest RY115 also Advance Auto MR38, Autozone Duralast Number 19861.... NTE also shows that the CB1 part crosses to a R51-5D40-12... www.sourceresearch.com/store1/quickstore.cfm?ProductID=197229&do=detail While the MR38 might be obsolete the others are available and I have purchased them as of 1/22/18 from two of the three locations. The RY115 crossed at AutoZone to the 19861 and Napa had plenty AR201 relays in stock .

I replaced the relay and the battery same time. Its charging now, but the relay is what was wrong with mine. I put the old relay in with the new battery and no charge, put the new relay back in and it was charging. Walmart batteries suck lol.
