Ski Doo Speedometer problem/ Fix

The speedometer on my 2005 Ski Doo REV was stuck at around 8 mph, but when back to zero when starting the sled then back up to 8. I did some research on how to fix this and found this way to solve the problem. simple and easy. dont have to worry about replacing the speedo. If you are wondering yes the sled does have a can on it, it has a snow stuff can.

Thanks! Great help for fixing the you speedometer. I had the lens apart trying to reset it manually, but it would always go back to 30 km/h at start-up. Then I realized... the internet has all the answers. And here I found you with my answer. Mine was on a quad 2004 CanAm Outlander, same procedure. But didn't need to start it only switch the key on while holding the speedometer button. Thanks again!

Excellent -- worked exactly as you showed for my 2005 Ski-Doo GTX 600 HO SDI. (There is no mention of this reset/recalibration procedure in the manual.) I think what initially caused my speedometer + trip meter + hour meter to reset and have this problem is the mode button (the one you depress in lower left of speedometer) was sticking in the depressed/pushed-in position. For a couple of times during a ride, I noticed that after I pushed the mode button to change to total mileage or time, and then started up the sled to continue, the trip meter and hour meter reset to 0. Then, on another restart after that, "SCALE" displayed permanently and nothing worked -- neither speedometer nor tachometer; a couple of red warning lights stayed on permanently as well. The sled worked normally, but the display was useless. After I got home, I found this youtube fix, and my first attempt to fix my trouble didn't work -- because my mode button was stuck. Once it wiggled the rubber on the mode button and kind of pull out on it, I did this fix routine and now problem is solved. I now know to check my mode button to know for sure it pops back out after pressing in.

Thanks! I After I watched this video I looked on the speedometer of my dads outladner 400 max 2005 and it had the speedometer on 3 km/h while not running and when running. I did this scale and press and wait thing and now it is on 0 km/h. It is good that bombardier put the same kind of speedometer on their Outlanders as on the rev snowmobiles i think!

so mine sits at 0 no problems there.. but was told from the guy i bought it from that it reads 15 mph faster then the speed i am doing so if im doing 60 mph it reads 75mph ...... any ideas on how to fix that?

You have to buy a gage from skidoo and than the wire connects to a different plug than the original one
