Today Savilles' Travels take you to Skiathos in Greece for a Bank Holiday Weekend Break with the girls.
We stayed in Megali Ammos in the south of Skiathos only 15 minutes drive from the airport.

We travelled with Jet2 from London Stansted and stayed at the Skiathos Aviation Hotel, B&B in a Suite with outdoor whirlpool and side pool view.
We travelled on the bus to Koukounaires Beach (bus stop 26) and the cost of this was 3 euros each.
The main shops in the old town are located on Papadiamanti Street and I highly recommend taking a look in Agua Gift Shop as the owner was so friendly and helpful and her products are gorgeous.
We dinned in Achinos Beach Restaurant which has lovely service and we really enjoyed the food. The hotels restaurant is called Black Pepper and serves Mediterranean and Greek cuisine. The last lreaturamt we visited is called Exantas and the wine menu and food was outstanding plus we had a table looking over the beach and sea which was stunning - this was our favourite.

Just came back from Skiathos on Tuesday. Stayed at the Thalasso, where you had your first night meal. Wandered into town thru those back streets. You did get a wee bit lost on the walk in… but very familiar with all those back streets and ate in the same tavernas. Was really hot last week and the town was very busy. Glad you liked it. Think we might just go back next year too😊

Thanks for watching. Wished we’d had longer on the island to do more. Ha ha yes we ended up much further than we needed to go when looking for the town! Glad you enjoyed it too

Really enjoyed watching this!! If you enjoyed the four days please do visit again because there is so much you didn’t manage to see and I know if you had stayed longer you would have adored it. As someone who visits the island yearly, I would say best time to come is early July, before schools break out, but so lovely and warm and the water in the sea is perfect for swimming. May is a little chilly! There is a few lovely walks into town from bus stop 4……sadly you took the back route! Next time go past the car park and graveyard and follow the paths down which will take you to the port quicker and is a much nicer walk. Try Kolios beach or Aghia Paraskevi beaches. The beach you went to with the ducks ( normally you see swans on the beach ) whilst is very popular isn’t my favourite and the beach bar in my opinion is very expensive and not that great! …in high summer those beds are 30 euros each and the music booms!…wouldn’t go again. So many restaurants that serve great food and out all the Greek islands I’ve been too, Skiathos is the only one we go back to year after year.

Hi. Really enjoyed your video. How long was your walk into skiathos old town? I’m looking to go here for a short break myself soon and was going to stay in the old town but as going in the summer I think I’d prefer to be nearer a beach and head in and of the town to eat, drink and dance. What would you Recommend? Thanks.

Hi, we were only there for a few days so it’s difficult for me to say for definite. I think if you want to eat and drink easily you would be better off closer as we were limited where we were. However the restaurants we went to were lovely. If we had more time then we would have been happy to wander down in the evening then maybe get a taxi back. It’s not that far as I think we took the long route! Prob 15-20 minutes.
