kid plate Aprilia Tuareg 660 . Weight : 3.8Kg - Independent linkage guard to maximise the chances of compatibility with after market center stands, this skid plate made of High density polyéthylen plastic 8mm thick is 30 to 40% lighther than its aluminium equivalent. This bash plate will absorb impacts without saving déformations and will not generate any vibrations. Polyethylen reduces the projections noise wich ensure more confortable rides. COMPATIBLE with Hepco & Becker , Outback Motortek et SW Motech crash bars. About the center stands, we didn’t get the chance to make any test so we designed the rear of the skid plate in a way to increase the chances. At least, some modifications may be required about center stands. WARNING, this product fits only the Aprilia TUAREG 660 model and may vary from a year to another.

I'm so happy I've just found a non alloy bash plate for my new Tuareg. My only suggestion is could you mark in some way the plate ( or colour code the bolts or cap screws) to identify what fasteners have to be undone to remove the bashplate for an oil change? It seems there are a lot that don't need to be undone. I can see my service guy undoing them all as he won't know how it is constructed and attached.

Very nice job, looks like a very thought out product. Surprisingly, it's kind of heavy, but we can't have everything I suppose. I have two questions: - how much of ground clearance is lost when this skidplate is installed in comparison to the OEM one? - are you 100% sure that your skidplate is NOT compatible with some of the other crash bars, such as GIVI? I assume you did not have these bars to test it out yourself, you just looked at the pictures? From the pictures and the video I think that it may be compatible with these after all.

Thanks for your comment, it has been a nice project to manage and we're happy of the result ! 3.8Kg is more than some other of our skid plates yes but this one required more fixation supports and reinforcement :) at least it will always be much lighter than the same product in aluminium :) Clearance : honnestly, I don't have the reflex yet to measure this. Consider our skid plate is about 15mm far from the pipe and then, add 8mm of thickness if you want to measure on your :) About crash bars, we checked by pictures yes, and it's possible that other models are compatible but we will check and add to the list step by step. On the first units sold, the plastic tended to melt a bit, but we added a heat pad to avoid this problem and there isn’t any issue anymore 😉

I received the skid plate for my Tuareg 660 today. The instructions show to affix a heat shield sticker on the inside of the skid plate near the catalytic converter, but there is no heat shield sticker provided. Is the heart shield sticker not required for the Tuareg 660, or was the sticker overlooked during packing?

Hello, On the right side, you'll need to cut the spacers supplied by SW to make them compatible with the skid plate. Thanks for your question! We faced some issues with the previous model being stuck in the front fender. So we redesigned the upfront part of the skid plate to avoid any problem with it 😊

Trying to fit this with my SW MOTECH CRASH BARS that it says are compatible but can’t see how this is going to work? The steel AXP bracket is flush fitting. How will that mount to the same mounting point as the SW Motech crash bars with the perfectly machined spacer that SW Motech supply with the bars that fits into the recess engine mounting point?? You works basically have to supply 2 correct sized spacers that fit 1 behind the bracket and 1 correctly sized spacer in front of the steel bracket to allow the bracket to fit correctly. I doubt that it will fit without modification. The crash bar sits inside the frame. Your mounting plate on the right side of the bike covers that hole. Only the screws will go through your plate. I will email you some pictures to show the problem. Maybe it is possible to change the mounting plate?!
