This song just gave me full bottle of happiness and in that case don't have much to say - It was a joy which I don't need to explain... xoxo
Lyrics
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain
The wind would whisper and I'd think of you
And all the tears you cried, that called my name
And when you needed me I came through
I paint a picture of the days gone by
When love went blind and you would make me see
I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes
So that I knew that you were there for me
Time after time you there for me
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you oh oh
We spent the summer with the top rolled down
Wished ever after would be like this
You said I love you babe, without a sound
I said I'd give my life for just one kiss
I'd live for your smile and die for your kiss
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you
We've had our share of hard times
But that's the price we paid
And through it all we kept the promise that we made
I swear you'll never be lonely
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain
Washed away a dream of you
But nothing else could ever take you away
'Cause you'll always be my dream come true
Oh my darling, I love you
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you
Remember yesterday walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand I remember you
Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day
I'd wanna hear you say I remember, I remember you, oh yeah

I live in Santa Monica California (LA County) Skid Row is a heartbreaking 💔 place and what makes it worse is a mile down the road are mansions! If you listen to Poison do a song called Give Me Something To Believe In Brett Michaels points out this very fact! I’m encouraged by seeing some celebrities feeding the homeless there! I remember working Thanksgiving and Christmas there shoulder to shoulder with some of the cast of Days of Our Lives! I worked beside Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans) and her twin sister Andrea Hall (Hattie Adams, Samantha Evans). God Bless the people who make their mark helping people on Skid Row!

For all I have today, I would still go back and do it again. Back to California, the Whiskey a Gogo, Hollywood, the South Bay...my times were charmed. I never thought too much about all the concerts I went to...the US Festival too. Then I moved to Colorado in 1990 at 25 and got Red Rocks and the great Barry Fey ( Fey Production's ). Still have a picture in the phone here of Snake Sabo signing my wife's hoodie. She about shit when I came out of the bathroom with him ( my luck ).

Yes, I do love this song too (still). I was born in 1971 so this song from their debut album came out in January 1989, the year I graduated from high school! Such a wonderful decade, the 80s - and Sebastian with his beautiful long hairs was the envy of many people, myself included.

Back in this time, all the girls loved this iconic singer. They would cry and weep over this man's singing. Wishing the boys around them were as beautiful as this creature. I learned real quick that even though I was more of a Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax guy....i must embrace this band if I wanted women to be attracted to me. And it worked for sure. These songs by Skid Row are Pure Memory of romance for me as a teenager and young man. I appreciate this band more now then ever.

It's great when the energy, passion and vibe of the late 80s early 90s hard rock/heavy metal/glam rock music hits her and she gets up and dances. Just her facial expressions at some points of the song, show how the music is affecting her. Such an amazing vocalist and band

I used to work at a pizza place and Skid Row was on regular rotation in our CD player back in the kitchen, despite it being the late '90s. We'd always try to belt out that super long note at the end of this song. I was fired from the pizza place.

Very hard to beat Skid Row when it comes to that genre! The song writing, musicianship, showmanship & of course the vocal expertise of Mr Bach are unmatched! As much as I love the first album (includes one of my top 5 songs of all time - 18 and life) I feel they really hit their peak on Slave to the Grind. The songs are better & production is top notch, just sonically huge! Your reaction is priceless here, like your in a trance lol! For 2 albums…… nothing worth talking about after the Slave album. I love Skid Row. First album is nearly perfect. Not a bad song on it. (like PJ Ten) But it came too late. By the 3rd album, hair metal was mostly dead and SR was on its way out too. That’s the reality.

First album every song rocked, start to finish. Wasted Time Is the greatest Skid Row song off the Slave album. His best lyrics in that song: “The sun will rise again The earth will turn to sand Creation's colors seem to fade to grey And you'll see the sickly hands of time Will write your final rhyme And end a memory” Emotional voice in this one. About a roadie friend of his Who ODd on heroin. (“The Horse stampedes and rages”) The guy is in the video for the song. Darkened Room is a horribly underrated song too.

It would be a loss of purity to try to put words to express how much your happiness to this amazing music (back in the day) Glamour bands was the craze back then; long hair, straining vocal chords and screaming guitar rifs. The 60's and 70's music could have never predicted what was going to happen in the 80's. Just want to say though, it is such a joy to see someone in this present day take such an appreciation to what most thought was just normal at the time, today it is harder to be at that level of greatness if you are not born with it, which may or may not have been as true back then, because music like that was new, we didn't know how good we had it until after the turn of the century when "like you say" it was becoming more about business.
