Hi Tim. As a Skid Row fan I was wondering if you could consider the possibility to do a lesson/tab for The Threat of Skid Row. I have never found a tab (or a good one) for this song and I think you would do a great job.

Another awesome one again man! Just wanted to give you props for having one of the best guitar lesson channels on all of KZbin! Once people start discovering you more your channel will explode! Love all the Metallica lessons too! You break down each song perfectly and the accuracy is top notch. Fantastic that you will break down their entire catalog! I'm in my mid 40's and have been playing all my life. Back in the day we had to learn from all of those inaccurate tab books and no internet or software to isolate and slow down guitar parts! You set the record straight on all of these songs and teach them perfectly! I can't wait to relearn some of these Metallica songs the correct way! Love the choices on some of these old hair metal classics too! Would love to see some Dangerous Toys/Teas'n Pleas'n, Extreme/Kid Ego, Bulletboys/Smooth up in Ya, definitely some Ratt, Tesla and Whitesnake too! Dude you rock! Keep them coming!

Thanks a lot for your awesome comment! I'm glad these are helpful. Thanks for making some great suggestions too. I'll definitely be doing more hair metal including the bands that you mentioned. I was actually listening to Whitesnake's 'Lovehunter' album yesterday. It's got some cool tracks. Cheers!🍻

interesting choice I would have expected 18 and life due to how popular it is to learn on guitar. Do you choose lessons based on the music you like? i’d imagine that would help with motivation on these very in depth lessons
@TimHolman3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I mostly choose tunes based on what I feel like learning at the time. I will be doing 18 and life too. In fact, I'll probably get to quite a few Skid Row songs. They have really fun stuff and always smoking solos! 🤘🔥

I want to do the entire Slave to the Grind album. I've learned my lesson though sinking countless hours into making a video for no views. I have to keep that in mind until my channel grows. Once I have a decent number of subscribers I'll be able to do way more content. Seems I can only get away with Metallica right now. Lol

Hi Tim, thanks for the awesome lessons. I also finally learned "Call of Ktulu" on your channel. Is it possible for you to do Skid Rows "In a Darkened Room"? Chords, picking and fills/ solo? The tutorials that are available now are not anywhere near the actual recording. I know you would nail it. Anyways, thank you again for the lessons you share!! Aloha from Hawaii.!

You did a good job especially on the solo but you got some things wrong in the rhythm and chorus sections. Scooti and Dave did some videos called riff lords in which they both showed how to play several skid row songs one of which is "youth gone wild" scotti also has his own youtube on which he shows how to play ":18 & life, and I remember you" I will leave links to each in the comments for you an whoever would like to view them. scootriff lords link kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWO4m2N_jMhmeac

I watched all of that before doing this video. Any descrepencies would be me thinking that they played it differently on the album. A lot of artist show their parts slightly different then the album. I could have just copied Scotti but I wanted to get as true to the recording as I could.

Yeah i know how it is the tab sites get alot of stuff wrong. So i find myself sitting here on youtube changing the playback speed turning up the volume and panning from side to side trying to figure out parts to songs! Cause i don't have tracks machines or any of that stuff. I gotta tell ya some of the stuff the tab sites come up with makes you wonder if their deaf! Sometimes they get stuff so wrong i wonder if they are even listening to the same songs we are. I miss Guitar for the practicing musician then an guitar world always did a pretty good job of tabbing.
