When chains get gooped with mud or clay there's no way to clean them, so they spin, vs mud or clay on tyres will bust off going through the bush so I agree I use em in winter only.

I have a question how come the wood is hauled tree length there do they just process it at the mill cut it shorter cause up here we have to cut up all our wood.
@carlwilliams83544 жыл бұрын
Almost all Southern paper mill’s woodyards handle tree length wood and the debarbing drum indeed is setup for tree length. The mill I work at is hardwood only. We unload with a P&H portal crane with a 40 ton Mack grapple. We get tree length and double bunk 16-18ft wood. It only take 2 guys per shift to run, a crane operator and a guy in the tower running the drum and chipper.

by the way, snakes are called danger noodles! or a nope-rope xD good content. I was stuck between being a forestry operator and a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. both of them have good careers, but the pay for a heavy equipment operator is really good in my area and I didn't want to move away from home. it was a tough, but rewarding decision.

Great video great info. When is your skidders operators going back to skidder school? Might have to do a series on that? What kind of log trailer do you and Mickey like loading? Headache rack on trailer or no headache rack? Thanks again for showing us the thinning part of logging. Glad tigercat helping out on the parts for 620. Keep up the great work

@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas3 жыл бұрын
What is your definition of swamp tires?
@brycelundeen92843 жыл бұрын
@@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas Wide tires used for muddy conditions. Provides better flotation and better LGP.
@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas3 жыл бұрын
You’re talking about 50”-65” singles? In my application the single wide tires do not work, especially they type of shovel logging we do, you need the dual tires to lock onto the wood.
@brycelundeen92843 жыл бұрын
@@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas Damn. That sucks. You'd only have 4 tires to buy instead of 8 if you could use them. Keep up the good work!!! Enjoying the videos
@CuttingEdgeLogging_Thomas3 жыл бұрын
It’s actually cheaper to run duals like we have vs the big wide tires. And we’ve been running some of our outside duals for 10 years now 😂

@nomerc36084 жыл бұрын
They use it to fill in soft spots in the pull roads. All of the tailings from the delimitation as well as the tops are used in and they are spread over the pull roads. He explains this in his other videos... *” I highly suggest you binge watch his other videos!”* You will be very surprised at what you will learn!
