Just too much fun vicariously hanging out with y'all, through this alien invasion. BTW what y'all call a creek there we call bayou here and most are brackish water, a mix of fresh water emptying into salt water with tides determining salinity. There are no salt water gators and they are not as aggressive as your crocks. Leissez le bon temps roulette ( cajun French "let the good times roll" pronounced " lay-sa=say lay bon tomps roo-lay"

Here in the states you find mangroves in Florida, I live in Alabama, in a city called Mobile , here we have bayou's , they are salt water at the mouth then turn fresh the further up the bayou you go , we catch blue crab here , we also do a thing call floundering , it's when you walk in the water at night with a gig and a light looking for flat fish which are called flounders , you can look up flounder giggling to see what I'm talking about , do ya'll have shrimp down there ,

Texan here. Can y'all just have a loop of rope close to the trap with the float underwater, and just pick up the trap with a boat hook later? This way nobody can see the location of the trap, the rope loop is deep enough to avoid propellers and the float makes the rope loop easier to pick up with the boat hook. Pro Tip: Thieves make good crab bait ;) Also, an On The Fly Jack Plate makes the motor more efficient and functional.

Thing is with the baits you use. What ever you use as bait they eat. And then you go home and eat a little bit of road kill with your crab. Turns out the human fit for consumption foods do better unless you want to feed cheap food on mass then the dog a usage is better. So m7ch of it takes too long to eat giving more time for captures
