Of course you could be able to ski these runs. I grew up just outside of Philly and learned on tiny hills. Learning really good ski technique is paramount. The skills translate. It takes experience to get used to the steepness, the bumps, the deep snow and the length of the runs but that means getting out there and doing it. I never skied in the Rockies until I was almost 30 and this trail is one of the ones we always hit when in Breck. The upper part and lower part are excellent to work on bumps; that middle part is still something I take slowly. Breck is a great mountain for first trips out West.

Would love to get some insight into how you chose your lines through moguls. You take some of the bump runs quite fast and it’s hard to make sense of your choices without seeing your skis and boots. May be a good subject for a new video once things get started this season. Thanks also for keeping the focus on the runs and for being so comprehensive in your coverage of the resort.

I'm still trying to figure it out myself. The next time I shoot a video, it will probably be with a mount on top of the helmet, and as far back on the helmet as I can given where the vents on it are. I'm hoping this will get the ski tips in the video from time to time. I like having the camera mounted as low as possible on the brim of the helmet, but don't like the floating in space look of the video. You can get an assortment of mounts in a package on Amazon that will give you all kinds of different mounts to try out too.

We could get a big snow storm anytime between now and early June. Any given week or month is hit or miss any given year. @BreckSnowPro4 жыл бұрын
I don't. My best guess is that your phone GPS loses service when you are in a place where much of the sky is blocked by mountains, like at the bottom of Windows. And this would be a problem with any GPS. But having said this, I have a 10+ year old Garmin that I often hike with. And once it gets locked on, I have never seen it lose service. However, other than for one video when I wanted to measure distance, I have never skied with it. To keep from getting lost, you could always bring someone who knows where they are going.

Hello! This is Ted with another Breckenridge ski video. Today, I'm standing near the bottom of the Imperial chair. I just came down the Imperial Bowl, and now I'm heading over to Peak 9. I thought I'd show you my preferred way of doing this, which is to ski both Psychopaths: Upper Psychopath into Lower Psychopath, down to the bottom of E-Chair. So, from the bottom of the Imperial chair to the bottom of E, on Psychopaths. Let's go make some turns! So, something else worth mentioning on the route that I'm about to take, or at least the route I'm starting out on, is that if you get up to the top of 6-Chair, and everything that you could see from 6-Chair looked like it was a little more challenging than what you want to do. Where I am right now is the easiest way down from the top of 6, to the top of the Colorado chair. I'm not going to go all the way to the Colorado in this video, but I'll show you where you would peel off to the left to do so. But as you can see, all of this is nicely groomed and pretty gentle. If I wanted to go to the top of the Colorado chair, I would come this way, and then, at this sign, stay to the left that way, but I'm going to go down here to Upper Psychopath. So, and I forgot to mention, but this is January 7th, 2020. I have shot this video or shot a video of this run before. You can find that in the playlists, but a number of you who subscribe have said you just go ahead the shoot the same things, because you like to see the snow conditions at different times of the year. This is probably the hardest part of Psychopath right here, or it gets pretty narrow. Alright, and here I am back at the bottom of 6-Chair, having just come down Psychopath, and I'm going to continue down Lower Psychopath over that way. A much easier way down would be Frosty's Freeway, and past the bottom of that lift line is Lower Boneyard. And I've shot all of these videos, or videos of these runs all before. You can find those in the playlist if you would like. And you'll see the Lower Psychopath is quite a bit easier than Upper. And this might be a good time to mention, that I am a local real estate broker, and shooting these videos as part of a self-marketing effort. More information about Breckenridge real estate for sale, please see the link in the description below. And I also teach private ski and snowboard lessons part-time. And once again, more information about me, please see the link in the description below! That's some military jets going overhead. That'll be a good test of my microphone here. So that was the bottom of the Imperial chair to the bottom of E-Chair, taking upper and lower Psychopaths. I hope you like that. If you did, please give it a thumbs up. If there's anything you'd like to see me ski or ride on this channel, feel free to mention it in the comments below, and as always, have fun and be safe!

@BreckSnowPro4 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify...To get to Upper Psychopath, I started on the easiest way down which is to follow signs to Upper Four O'Clock, which is to the far skiers left of the bottom of the Imperial Chair. And I have posted a video of this route before which can be found in the playlists. But Upper Psychopath is probably the hardest way down from the top of E-Chair, NOT the easiest.

So question, I have heard about Whales tail not being a true double black, and imperial Bowl being the easiest double black, which of these two do you think would be best to start on for double blacks, also about whales tail, do you have to traverse into peak 7 bowl, or would there be a way to traverse into runs like white crown, ptarmigan and pika?
@BreckSnowPro4 жыл бұрын
It will always depend on the conditions of the day, but in general, the far right side (looking down the hill) of Imperial Bowl is typically a little easier than Whale's Tail. To get to Whale's Tail, you traverse from the top of the Imperial Chair-lift.
@stormtech80104 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, and also, after whales tail, do you have to traverse into Peak 7 bowl and if so, how difficult is that one?
@BreckSnowPro4 жыл бұрын
There are several lines down Peak 7 Bowl. After Whale's Tail, you can just stay mostly in the fall-line for some of them, or traverse skier's left for others. All are probably a little more difficult than Whale's Tail. If you are looking for the easiest way out after Whale's Tail, traverse skier's right to Forget-Me-Not.
