Thanks for the assembly instructions. I just got the snowblower from Lowes. Also have the lawnmower, the 6 amp battery might give the lawnmower more power than the 5 amp one it came with if it fits in it.

I had to check…this video is 14 months old now and still Chicago hasn’t gotten enough snow for a decent demo of these 🙄 I have three snowblowers waiting for demos. I’d be a liar if I told you I was sad about the snow though…🤣

I'm waiting for the 40v two stage because I'm on gravel unless they would just put an attachment on the place where the scrapper bar goes to lift it up.

I’m wondering what is better auger material wise: plastic, rubber, steel. Steel - I’ll have to use snow jet so the the snow doesn’t stick to the auger and clog/clump. Plastic - I’d be worried about it breaking. Rubber - appeals to me as i doubt it would be apt to break. I wouldn’t think it would clump/clog either like steel. I started looking at toro power shovel, worx, ego, and then skil. I def need an electric shovel for porch, steps, walkway, but i would like to get into an electric that can handle light/wet/fluffy/heavy snow. I am in upstate ny where we get dumped on a lot.

Thanks for the video and review brother. I have a few of Skil tools, started with their power core 40 power head with weedeater and the pwr core 40 520 cfm blower. Both have done excellent this year. I have their new XP pwr core 20 circular saw, the new 800/480 1/2" impact and their pwr core 20 brushes 5" orbital sander. Each one has exceeded their cost by a long shot. Especially considering i got them on sale at Amazon. Edit to add. I forgot to mention the PC 20 flood light and the new tower light

My driveway, coupled with the moderate amount of heavy snow & ice we get in the mountains, would eat those for lunch but it'll be fun to see how well they work for you. 😀

Lol! These little one stage snow blowers definitely aren’t for everyone I know. My dad lived in the close suburb of DesPlaines and used a two stage Ariens that was so old the engine cover was art deco. I used to have a 4wheeler with a plow blade. Not a common sight in the city. Im sure it earned me legend status but the turning radius made it useless here. Thanks for watching Jeff!

I have a Ryobi Expand-It with Hart power shovel head thats pretty much the same as you unboxed here. I can tell you right away that this Skil has an advantage because the shovel head is centered to the shaft, wheras the Hart and Ryobi brands are to the left (or right. I dont remember at the monent). It makes a difference depending or where the user wants to move snow. Tip: when you do test it dont expect it to work like a snow blower, because a power shovel is still a shovel. It may seem somewhat light weight right now, but when its time to shovel, it will seem heavier 😐 Go somewhat slow to remove one "layer" of snow at a time if the snow is more than an inch or so, especially if its deep, wet, or heavy. I like mine, but its a bit more work than I assumed it would be. NOT to say its not useful though. You gotta put it into perspective about how/where to use it. I repeat - dont expect anything close to a snow blower. You'll be happier with your testing that way. 😊

@manuelvalenzuela5729 Жыл бұрын
Rechargeable cells have a voltage of 1.2 volts. So I'm not sure how these batteries could be 40 volts. Unless they are talking about the peak charge. When the battery is first removed from the charger. I am thinking the actual working voltage of these batteries is 36 volts. It would be interesting to see voltmeter used to check the actual voltage. Keep up the great reviews!
@STH-tn8zd Жыл бұрын
Yea, most tool battery systems just round up to the peak voltage, so 20v is actually 18 and 40v is actually 36, I think 80v systems are 72
@GravityRoller Жыл бұрын
RE: "how these batteries could be" (greater than the voltage of one battery)? The batteries are WIRED IN SERIES (add each batteries voltage for the sum of battery pack).

Let me get this straight because this concept is so foreign to me. So y’all northern folk just MOVE the snow out of your way and go on about your day? Like it’s not a big deal or anything? No rush on milk and bread at the grocery store to prepare for the impending apocalypse? 😂

This is useless. Wait until you get about a foot of snow and show use the unit then. These things are not cheap. People want to know how they perform. A beauty contest is not what we need. How does the damn thing work. Surely you can understand. Better luck next time. Thumbs down.
