Skill Issues VS Non Skill Issues In XDefiant

just wanted to have a little talk about this today because I think the term skill issue is thrown around so much it's basically a meme at this point...usually it is just somebody who doesn't agree with somebody elses take and wants to dismiss their opinion as being invalid

I don't get how people say this game feels like the Golden era of Call of duty. Those games feels 10 times better to play than XDefiant.

The feeling of randomness in the matchmaking, the good old classic guns like M4, ACR, MP5, the simplicity of the loadout, the satisfaction you feel when you're getting better, the variety of skill level in the same lobby, all those are really reminiscent of old CODs and we're totally absent in newer COD titles. Xdefiant is a mess and the net code is frustrating, but there's a lot of stuff in this game that are very reminiscent of older COD.

Marksman rifles are really bad for this, not only do you get the hitmarker on screen, but you get that nice thump sound when you hit someone, so it is extra obvious when you get 2 hits in, but he only lost half his health, or you hit and he has max. (That is not hitreg though, but the netcode, but I feel ppl often are mixing this together anyway)

I jump shot every engagement in CoD. Why is it making people so angry in XDefiant? Bunny hopping has been a thing in CoD since mw2019 and no one has been bitching and crying about it in CoD.

levelling up stuff and not having rapid fire attachments so you get beat too much is an issue

Rapid fire isn’t as great as people make it out to be. It only buffs the ttk by .01-.03 ms on most guns. It doesn’t do Jack shit for marksman rifles, snipers, shotguns, or slow firing weapons like the AK. Even running muzzle booster and rapid fire together isn’t enough of a buff for it to matter. Heavy barrel on the mp5 brings the ttk down from a .35 ttk to a .26 ttk. Now THAT is a buff. My point is. If you’re getting beat. It isn’t because of an attachment.

I’m dropping 30-40 kills in TDM on average and it’s still a hit reg issue some shots don’t even register and when you try to take long range gunfights it’s even worse

You can’t spam it anymore. It already got patched. Plus, if you can’t kill someone who occasionally jumps. You’re not killing the same player even if he was stuck on the ground. You’ll just find something else to complain about instead of trying to get better.

As someone who does Echelon sniping, I will say Phantom(Mag Barrier) and Cleaner are definitely superior. Libertad is normally superior and Dedsec can be on par or worse (depends on opposing factions). Intel suit + sniping at range can work if you can't use a proximity mine or if it's already used up (I'd rather run Dedsec) Digital Ghillie Suit + sniping at range definitely works in off angles, not really normal sniping spots due to the glint of the sniper scope still being a thing.

I found out that my modem was wired into a coax cable amplifier that was reducing my upload speed to 1/3rd and was adding signal noise, I removed it and my issues are fixed dramatically (I think cable internet suffers WAY more than fiber connections on this game specifically because the xdefiant client sends 170 packets per second or something crazy and if your upstream internet signal has a messed up signal to noise ratio or possibly overheated modem due to the amplifier boosting it beyond spec (bandaid a tech used to give us paid speeds and get out quick I guess last time there was a service call lol) It def depends on the server you happen to connect to in match and how many hops you have between you and the server (there may be a damaged or overloaded node within the route) some ppl have said using a vpn improves their connection in game because it avoids the usual route their isp uses...sorry for the lengthy response lol

Awesome channel and Great viewpoints! Overall I think XDefiant is a Good game but needs some fine tuning. I'm a solo player and what I've noticed while playing in these stacked lobbies. XDefiant movement system leans more towards offense than defense when it comes to gameplay. I've been playing FPS games for years so I know what's possible and impossible when it comes to gameplay. XDefiant has a major cheating problem across the board. It doesn't matter if you play on a console or PC. Hopefully Mark Rubin and his development team address the cheating because it's ruining their game. Cheating has nothing to do with skill.

this has def been a thing in the old cods to it favors the attacker and moving player, more info is sent to the server while moving vs standing still (a wireshark test inside test range done shows this) also if you jump around a corner or slide around a corner, you have a decent peekers advantage over the other player who may be preaiming that corner

I totally make skill issues I like run and gun tdm and I definitely run into teams without really thinking. I hear you about having different party options. Especially the no mic option. I usually play with no headset when I’m solo. I will mic up if I playing with some friends but we’re using Xbox party for our chat not in game chat. Part of why I don’t chat with randoms anymore is remember few years ago playing a cod I think bop3 anyway I found a nice lobby with other adult players and we were having nice conversations and then after a few matches a teen comes in he says something rude and offensive and it destroy the nice vibe we had. So I rarely do in game chat nowadays.

I could understand the frustration from the players when it comes to spamming bunny hopping and crouching. It's a nuisance and further amplified by terrible netcode and hit-reg. The penalty isn't detrimental enough for excessive spamming and then the penalty doesn't trigger fast enough nor does it really negate the spammers ability to stay on target while firing weapons. It's just cheesy and dumb. It's not a skill issue. It's exploitative behavior made worse by all other aforementioned issues in this post. Surely there are tons more issues with this game but I won't go list them all.

there is a lot of connection issues due to latency variation despite having reasonable ping in the lobby, all it takes is your ping to go from 35 to 40 in the middle of a gunfight to have packet loss and the server doesn't get information about damage you're dealing and if the opponent didn't have that fluctuation, they will win that fight

Dude I’ve played while I’m eating and sometime get stoned 😅 most of the time I’m in the top 3 overall but I never feel like I’m having to sweat to win the game. My experience has been enjoyable since the game launched and honestly the issues allot of people have brought up, haven’t really affected me and I play on pc too.

The aim assist in this game is very mild and easy to break, you're tripping 🤣 Go into a kbam lobby with a controller in this game and watch how badly you get destroyed. Kbam in this game is DEFINITELY stronger if you're used to it, so if you're dying to controller users that sounds like a skill issue 😂👍

Xdefiant is a hard game! There is a potiential for really high skillgap, and you can like that or hate that. But there is no denying it. And there is something I need to say, because people need to hear it! Though I doubt they will listen! Complaing about "sweats" or "tryhards" as they were called some years ago, that has been a thing for at least the last decade! And its laughable! I can't really take it serious! Because speaking of skill issue! You complaining about tryhards is a skill issue! And a Being super selfish and self centered issue! What is happening is people decide "I don't want to put in any real effort, I just want to good around, maybe with a gun I don't usually use, or maybe I still use the meta gun, but just be more relaxed about everything" And then they die, because there is someone that plays the game, and want to win, because they think winning is fun, and that is why they play. Now the first guy gets mad he isn't good enough to beat a player that plays the game as it is supposed to, when he is only putting in 70% himself. If you want to chill and relax, then don't get mad when you lose - you can't have it both ways! You are just being fucking selfish not understanding the whole world doesn't revolve around you! The fact that you don't want to try, doesn't give you the right to be mad at the ones that do want to play the game, specially when it's your own fault, you chose to not put in the work! I said before, and I happily say it again - HellDivers is a really fun game! If you want to chill, go play that, or play something else that is PVE! Or accept, that people play the game, and like to play it like its supposed to, and you have no right to dictate how it is played, depending on your mood. PVP is vs real human beings, they think the world revolves around them, as much as you think it revolves you - and they might be in the mood to catch some W's, and they don't care one bit if you are more in the mood to zone out and be goofy!

I can't tell if this is directed at me or the ppl who think tryhards is an issue...if you watched the video I don't have a strong stance in any particular direction and I CLEARLY STATE IN MY VIDEO ppl have diff goals in game and will play how they want and you have no control over that... I never said I don't want to try the only thing I have ever complained about is going against 4 kids in discord calls who are holding hands everywhere on the map essentially creating a 1v4 every gunfight while my team is VAPING in the back of the map
