This tierlist just makes me remember the times when Flag could just solo any dungeon in the game by spamming exsanguinate and herbs since you had no limited use and the effects were a regular debuff. Truly the DLC power-creep character of all time next to Shieldbreaker. Nearly all of his skills did something so silly, that his stress / dot transfers were really left in the dust. His stress in particular is interesting since I guess they wanted you to become rapturous, as you get bonus damage and speed, and his heart attack doesn't immediately take him out? But as always not being able to control people sucks. I think Red Hook overestimated how true Flagellant would actually be at death's door and overclocked all of his abilities to compensate for the fact that they were trying to encourage you to actually have a character be used on the brink. Instead we had one of the most insane healer / bleeder / tank / damage things and his only main downside is that he could never be resolute. Maybe not the place to reminisce about how broken a character was for a tierlist designed for 2024 but he's my favourite, at his release, at his rework, in DD2 as a blight damage dealer.

Makes you appreciate that so far the DLC heroes for DD2 haven't really been power creep, just complexity creep and nostalgia creep respectively, lol

Arbalest's bandages go a long way in stabilizing an Occultist comp. Not only does the bonus healing help when Occultist low rolls a heal, it helps you avoid the dreaded 0 healing, inflict bleed status that has killed a few of my heroes across my career. Plus it is a solid "waste time" skill that you praised with Abomination, and finally, as they noted, there's not many strong skills in Arbalest's kit, so its a minimal opportunity cost to run.

Despite her shorcomings I tend to run Arbalest quite a lot, and yes, Arb-Occ duo is super good. If only her mark was usable and Blindfire pushed her back instead of +SPD, I'd roll her out even more and more regularily in rank 3.

@@The_True_Meller my Arbalest bar is usually her regular attack, bandages, blind fire, and bolas. Ive only seen blindfire be good when killing an isolated large target since they usually have low speed, the boost helps make sure she goes before them next round.

Battle heal deserves to be higher. Its heal is not great but from any slot? This can save lives. With Ancestors scroll and Orders he can out heal Uca arterial pinch.

Blind fire is for things like, 2 arbalests, a highwayman and an occultist that have a really really easy time killing ranks 2-4, but limited options to kill rank 1. The class only has a handful of skills you'd consider and only two skills you always bring (heal and shoot), and only one arbalest at a time would ever need flare, so it's good to at least make sure to prevent reinforcements as a decent last pick for a skill

I actually think that Abomination moves / the character in general is a little bit underrated, you can do crazy stuff when building around Beast Mode! Specially with other characters. Abomination, HoundMaster, Jester, Occultist… it’s actually a “named team” btw. You can make the goat dude hit like a Leper, even without crit’s with the right camping skill stacked on Abom.

Surprised you guys rated exsang higher than redeem. As you said its soul crushing when you miss an exsang, it's why I stopped running it and exclusively use redeem now.

It's equally soul crushing when your Flag is low and you don't have anyone to use Redeem on. Also, Redeem has fewer uses per battle - it matters a lot when you take him to Endless Harvest.

suppressing fire has such a low opportunity cost that u can keep it on your bar most of the time and i find myself pressing it most combats. there are so many enemies that can be completely ignored until recovery phase if theyre rendered unable to crit

@@RanVor she definitely has less healing to do if you don’t have to deal with something like an arterial pinch crit in recovery. I think it’s more that it doesn’t cost much to keep it on arbalest’s bar to hit in the beginning of the fight so she can spend less time healing damage from heavy crits later

Bounty hunter has grown so much on me, he can do so much stuff while having decent to good dmg, especially with propper setup. Musketeer used to be my fav class for late game in the save I completed the game for the first time so I guess I just like mark

I guess you could replace buff with change. Like how the team stress happens, how biles works, transform doesn't need the damage increase, and the rebalance of broken key stun. If you keep the stress downside them slam outta 4 should be a thing.

@@colersutton i just think People tend to overrate the stress downside.... yeah its annoying but think about what can he do at like pos 2... he has access to all his kit : he can double stun with broken key, do double blight, healing himself, get damage buff + healing While still being able to play, always act first except maybe against mosquitos, deal almost as much damage as leper but with far better speed and accuracy, has the Best cleave in the game and even move enemies.... without his stress gimmick he would be too srong but People dont see it.... thats why i think the orange padlock is in fact super strong because with the broken key he doesnt need any other buff : he has damage, acc, speed, stun, reach, cleave, healing.... just put the orange padlock + broken key and this dude becomes a monster..... just dont be afraid to transform

Honestly not every character needs to be SUPER similar in power level, and I feel that his weaknesses inform his mechanical identity which is way way WAAAAY more important for me It's why I grew to slowly not like the highway man due to him being so good that he's not that interesting to play.

Abom seems like a “flavor” character to me. I never keep him in my roster, esp on harder difficulties. He needs a rework if they want him to see more gameplay.

Flash Powder is generally better in normal fights, but it falls off really fast when facing a boss with multiple actions per turn. Invigorating Vapors starts off weak at level 1 but gets far better by level 5 compared to other skills, as you both pointed out. IMO they're both A tier, but Vapors beats out Powder when it comes to boss battles and late game.

That means though that you'd be running Antiquarian for boss fights which... of course you can do it but outside of late game it really doesn't seem that optimal to me over bringing a support better tailored for combat.

What does that moon icon means on farmsted infinite thing? And there is not a single pic on web from Ancestors memoirs 100 completion. Im week 160 and i cant get any heros to get curse, and i can heal the curse. But how do i get that fanatic to show up? and there is only one mission shown for now from fanatic. I never defeated him tho. I dont know are there like 3 or 2 showoffs of him. Should i intentionally go in cc to get my heroes infected so that he can show again. Is he just a wandering boss. But if not, he wouldnt be shown in ancestors memoirs.
