I’ve been listening to them for over 20 years now, and while I won’t say that everything they’ve made has been gold, their music, both old and new, still touches me as powerfully as it did when I was a teenager. this song is deep, meant to clarify just how bad life gets sometimes..and how there is always salvation..always..you just have to look in the most unexpected places...like my girlfriend used to be a cutter....severely depressed..but despite all these "flaws" she saw in herself.....little did she know, but she is the most kind, intelligent, beautiful woman i have seen and will ever see. she told me if i hadn't come into her life when i did, she might not be alive anymore...but i told her i was the same way...my mental health had been declining under intense depression...but we gave eachother a reason to live....and we've been together ever since our meeting. she is my angel. and i pray every single one of you find your soulmates too. trust me when i say your angel shows up in the strangest of places.. skillet couldn't be more right.

Jack Givens hey dude see your point but hay I'm atheist and so not cool bro. Atheists like me are just confused people who don't know what to believe. Their are so many religions with so many different beliefs so I stay away from it all. All the rules and the commandments its confusing so I find bliss and peace in the ignorance of not believing in god. But I do believe in existence after death but I believe in existence in a group of energy where all souls are collected and live a life in death as just another life where we are completely unaware that we aren't the only ones living. My theory is that the electro neurone energy that we call a soul goes out of the body and in this energy our subconscious lives and is transported to another plain of existence where we all live new lives. So basically what I'm saying is just because atheists don't have a concrete belief in a religion doesn't mean that we don't believe in something some people like me just believe in a scientific heaven where all the shackles of life are shed and we can live in peace. When I first heard this I was a teenager and sucidal. I was scared as heck to face my demons until I heard this. My parents never noticed cuts on me. I just got my strength from listening to this song. I played the heck out of this. Prayed and read my Bible. I also went to Wednesday night church meetings and Friday night escacapes (lock-ins) at church. God saved my life. The lock-ins got us busy for the night and we were just tired out by the time we were done playing video games, playing basketball, on trampolines, etc.If there is a pastor or youth pastor out there that can do that at your church please do it could help a self harming kid or suicidal teenager or even just keep kids out of trouble for the night. We also had Bible reading and a choice of movies.

I've noticed that all of their songs are motivational and inspirational to me, but this just screams the problems of the world out. It's a really good folk song. Some people believe that suicide is the ultimate sin, because you are supposedly disrespecting god by throwing away the life he gave you. However, i think personally that, unless there is a real reason for it (such as bullying, your parents abusing you, etc.), then in reality, you are so desperate to find peace that you end up taking your life when you reach your ultimate breaking point. In general, to me it very, very highly depends on the situation they are in altogether.

You don't have to be religious to know how much this song means. In my heart, looking for angels can mean anyone who has the heart to help someone in need. Help someone who's hungry, someone who's stressed, someone who's hurt, someone who's being ganged up on. Protect one another. In life, you get what you give. If you give love, you get love. Sometimes people use it to hurt you (demonic people) but don't ever stop giving.

People feeling the need to tell something like this is dissapointing, yes, you can think what you want, but the song is christian in general and has a lot of christian connotations and words, drawing things from Gospel verses, from the teaching of Jesus Christ, from God. I may have been too harsh and I didn't intended to, so I'm sorry if that was the case, but yes, I agree with you in that we need to give love and protect and that someone/a person can be like an angel to you, that can be like a savior or helper in a time of need, we also are able to change and save lives, even a small gesture to anyone like an unknown person can do that even if we aren't aware of it so we have to do that always, but we sadly don't do that often and use our capacities and abilities for evil and hate
