Nate Wick I've tried nearly everything to get me happy and high none of them could ever compare or satisfy me until I surrendered MY life to God and Jesus Christ and praise and feel His presence. There is nothing like the presence of God and when you worship Him with all your heart and mind and soul. You will feel His amazing presence. You can feel how good and holy He is. He is pure light and love. It is too much to bear I still cry when I feel it because it is overwhelming how good holy and loving He is. And unlike drugs, sex or any other addiction His presence heals, restores, renews and revives you. All other addictions do is destroy your life. I will be like a new person after being in the presence of God. That is His amazing grace. So keep your drugs I will choose God everyday because of what He does for me and His great love for me which nothing in the world can compare to. I would rather loose myself in God than any drugs.

This is why Skillet is so great. Even with a song about god they pour so much meaning into the music that an atheist such as myself can relate. I relate this song to a special someone. I have used many drugs in my life, and I know the feeling of someone being better then drugs. That someone you would stop using for just to be around. A feeling you can't understand without using. Actually, while I agree with you that many Christians think this is "devil's music" (my mom being one of them unfortunately), Skillet's big time fanbase (The Panheads) are 90% made up of Christians. In fact, I haven't met a Panhead who wasn't one. Of course, Skillet has a non Christian fan base too, just not ones who are Panheads. Most of the non Christian fans became such from Hero and Monster. Though some know about the Comatose album too. But not many listen to every album of theirs, go to their live shows, know their stories, etc. I'm just grouping them, of course some non Christians are Panheads too, and do all that. Just from what I've seen, not many. Anyways, yeah it drives me insane when someone judges music as evil cause of the genre. It's a battle I have so many times with my mom and others.
