I have been a leather-smith for 28 years. My teacher made me sew EVERYTHING by hand for the first year for multiple reasons. The main one was to strengthen my fingers and develop the callouses to be able to do it without concern. I thought I was going to be crippled after the first couple months. Now, all these years later I can do it without effort. It was a good lesson but I still like having my turn of the century Singer machine. I made a mask my first year too! Wilson was a rancher who loved his herd as much as he loved his family. One fateful night, while some fencing on the far side of a corral, some pillagers invaded his homestead, stealing all his valuables, disposing of his family and taking out his prized bull, cow and calf. Only being able to salvage a small amount of hide from each of his beloved animals, Wilson stitched together a mask, which he wears as he journeys the earth in search of the marauders who destroyed his life-intent on getting his revenge!

We know that Bubba (LeatherFace) did do a bit of crafting on his masks. Fred Kruger is seen at the beginning of A Nightmare on Elm St. assembling his iconic glove. Also, in Twisted Metal for the PS3, Marcus Kane is seen carving his Sweet Tooth mask before he goes off on his un-aliving spree of his family. So yeah, serial deleters and crafting kind of have a bit of overlap.

For future projects or if you want to fix something on Wilson there you might want to add some ventilation around the mouth section. Running around in an enclosed mask without sufficient ventilation is going to wind him really quickly. Anyways that little bit of wet forming and shading really elevated the look.

My mom uses pliers to pull stitches through leather when they’re really stubborn, and I have done the same on occasion sewing thick layers. It’s easy to accidentally break a needle that way though, so it takes a little finesse to avoid that, but it prevents hand pain from death gripping something so tiny.

Before you assume his face is symmetrical, give him a center part drawing it from his nose! If you can't get a straight center part, his nose likely isn't in the middle of his face and you'll want to make separate templates for each side. If he wears glasses, and you can't do center parts, you can bypass the center part trick: if plastic frames are cockeyed on him, then his nose isn't in the middle of his face, and on metal frames tou can check to see if the nose pads are centered.

The Legend of Wilson Wilson Graves was once the star quarterback of his high school football team in the small, forgotten town of Stillwater Falls. His skill on the field was legendary, and his promising future seemed bound for the bright lights of the professional leagues. But Wilson’s life was far from the dream everyone imagined. Beneath the cheering crowds and the fame, there was a darkness brewing. Wilson's father, a failed athlete himself, was obsessed with perfection. He pushed Wilson beyond his limits, demanding nothing less than excellence. On the eve of the state championship, Wilson’s father crossed a line that could never be uncrossed. In a fit of rage over a missed pass in practice, he beat Wilson mercilessly and locked him in the basement, forcing him to replay his mistakes over and over in the cold darkness. That night, something inside Wilson snapped. The next day, he played the game of his life-scoring touchdowns, making impossible passes-but with a look in his eyes that no one could recognize. When the final whistle blew, Wilson stood motionless at the center of the field, his gaze fixed on his father in the stands. He walked off the field, straight home, and was never seen at school again. A few weeks later, his father was found dead, his face brutally mutilated, and stitched together into what appeared to be a grotesque football mask. The police never found Wilson, and rumors of his descent into madness spread like wildfire. Years later, in the dead of night, under the flickering lights of the old Stillwater football stadium, stories began to circulate of a figure haunting the field. Players and coaches whispered of a tall, muscular man wearing a patchwork mask made from pieces of human faces, stitched together with the precision of a surgeon. They say that the mask moves on its own, its hollow eyes always watching, its lips twisting into a cruel smile as it whispers for vengeance. The mask, known as Wilson, has become its own entity-alive, sentient, and hungering for more than just victory. It speaks to him in a chorus of tortured voices, driving him to claim the lives of those who stand in his way. Each time Wilson claims a victim, he takes a piece of their face to add to his ever-growing mask, feeding its hunger for torment and suffering. Now, Wilson roams the sidelines of forgotten stadiums, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He has a new goal: to build the ultimate mask, one that will give him the power to control the field of life and death itself. His opponents don’t just lose the game-they lose their faces, their identities stitched into the mask, forever trapped in a twisted scream of agony. They say if you hear the sound of a football echoing in the empty night, followed by a voice calling plays in a raspy whisper, you should run. Because Wilson isn’t looking for a touchdown anymore; he’s looking for a new face to wear. And he always gets what he’s after.

Wilson was the water boy for his high school football team, Until the Friday night of the homecoming game. the team locked him in a locker right before the game. see no one even noticed Wilson was missing from the game, no one cared. By the time the game was over and the team was celebrating their victory, they had forgotten about Wilson locked in the locker as everyone went to an after party. leaving him alone locked in the locker room. On monday morning the team arrived early to the school for practice, they walked into the locker room to find it completely trashed, Lockers broken, Wilson nowhere to be found. But every single Football had been cut up and some scraps of the leather from the balls were cut into letters spelled out the message "You Know What You Did, your gonna pay" on the floor of the locker room. I could go further with it, but just some cool origin for the character of Wilson and how he got the leather for the mask. Used the watercooler to soak the leather and shape it. maybe he wears a patchwork football jersey made from all the players who left him to his fate in the locker. I am a horror game developer and if you don't mind id like to spin this into a small horror game about being hunted by Wilson and would like to use the likeness of the mask.

Growing up watching his dad play with the New England Patriots his happiest memories were on that field. After high school when he decided he needed to get a job he’d start working at that stadium his dad spent so much time at. He worships at the game and all it entails, the drama, combat, victory, and the camaraderie. He drank it all watching the teams battle for supremacy every week. He took pride in his work, his team, and his field. He was overjoyed during the teams golden age of Belichick and Brady. Title after title, ring after ring he stood tall as one of the ones who made sure everything worked the way it should have and looked as good as it could. Wilson was trusted to clean uniforms and keep up and ready equipment for the team during games. He would talk to the gear and balls and give them a little “pep talk” he would call it. Laughingly he would hear the balls talk back as if they were alive. His own good luck ritual. Until one year he was told not to bother with the balls. Uniforms and gear sure, but the balls had to be inflated on the field now instead of in the locker room. It had to be “monitored” and there was talk of “spot checks” as if his work wasn’t good enough. The allegations against his team were monstrous and outright false! Wilson, being denied his good luck rituals, broke. He knew it was his pep talks that helped the team win and without it the winning would stop…he had to do something…the balls told him so. He would avenge the injustice, he would right the wrong, and he would do it using the visage of the balls that were wronged so the last thing the officials saw were the cold dead brown mask of doom as it descended on them. His team would win…only he could ensure his ritual continued to bring his team luck, and doom to their enemies.

The homage!! Not sure if you meant to, but I love that you gave one of my favorite movies a slasher sequel. Never crossed my mind now I actually want one 😂🤣 *So Wilson was the beloved companion of a sad man who's plane crashed on an island. He was the only survivor, left to scavenge through dead passengers belongings when he came across a volleyball. He gave him a face and a name and took him on all his adventures, including the journey home on a raft they made. It was on this voyage that Wilson was accidentally cast away at sea during a treacherous stormy night. Both of their hearts broke as he drifted farther and farther, the man cried out for him with no hope of getting his friend back. Wilson was alone for what seemed like forever, constantly eaten (and thrown up) by creatures and beaten by boats filled with people who didn't want him. **_He's too ugly! He looks disgusting!_** They all left him to rot. Even when he washed up on shore they'd keep away from him, children ran screaming! Until one night a large man met his decrepit gaze and instantly saw Wilson's potential. He took him deep in the woods to a tiny shack made of scraps. The stench reminded him of the bloated bodies strewn across the island on a hot day. It was there his transformation began. Measuring, marking, cutting, stitching. As he filled patches and bended grooves, the man muttered about all those who torched his family's land, badly beat him and drove him out of town. **_No hideous disfigured animals allowed!_** Oh how he wanted to make them pay. Finally seeing his grotesque features, Wilson understood his plight. Their fates were aligned! He happily went through the pain of becoming just what the man needed to get vengeance for them both: The Masks of Nightmares. He couldn't wait to fulfill his assistant duty! Adding to the fear during a chase, collecting splatters like trophies on display. No one dared look at him before, now Wilson will be the last thing they ever see...*

Wilson began his life as a gift of a leather craftsman for his daughter. The family wasn't too well off, so all he could use were leather scraps. But since he was rather skilled, the result was a well made ball that his daughter loved dearly. The pattern of mixed leather scraps somewhat resembled a face, so the daughter named the ball "Wilson" and played with him like with a friend. The daughter grew up, had a family of her own and moved away. She later moved far away, across an ocean. When the father found Wilson years later, he decided to send it to his daughter, as a kind of gesture of good will, since they had since gotten estranged. Unfortunately, it never arrived. The ship Wilson was being transported on set out over the ocean, but wrecked at sea. From the unlucky crew only one survived. He made it to a lonely island, where Wilson provided much needed company. This part of his story was (much) later turned into a movie with Tom Hanks. When this poor guy escaped the island he took Wilson with him, though Wilson got lost at sea, again. Some time after he made it to land on an exotic beach. A rare voodoo practitioner found Wilson and, being able to feel the extreme amount of emotion he was loaded with, the practitioner chose Wilson to be his newest experiment. What started out as a ball had been deformed and ripped apart with neglected time, in two shipwrecks and his time on an island. Much of what was reminiscent of a face had survived. With a few stitches he was transformed into a proper mask. At that point Wilson was full of residual mental energy, mostly of connection and loss. The deeper the connection, the deeper the hurt when it is eventually lost. This kind of emotional whirlwind can be quite overwhelming, which is why one should be very careful, when picking up the mask.

There's a couple of easy tricks to check to see if your face is reasonably symmetrical! 1: Center part you hair, from your nose. If your part isn't straight down the middle, you nose is not in the middle of your face. 2: If you wear glasses, you can check your nose pads! If you wear plastic frames and they are always cockeyed, your nose is likely not in the middle of your face. If you have metal frames, you can just look to see if they are centered. I'm focusing on the nose because it is the major factor in comfortably fitting things that go on your face. I know both of these tricks because A) mom gave up on center parts for me as a young child because she could never get them right And B) I need glasses. Guess how we found out my nose isn't in the middle of my face? That being said, how the heck do you make masks when you absolutely cannot go without glasses? I'm heading twords legally blind and I can't get close enough to my eyeballs to wear contacts!

Wilson is the unassuming groundskeeper for a high school. One year the kids do a halloween prank that ruins the baseball diamond and in a mischievous rage, Wilson sews a scary mask together using the scraps of a couple old baseball mitts. Little did Wilson know, he'd mostly used the mitt of a convicted serial killer from when he was a student at that school and planned all his future kills in a notebook that lived in the kid's back pocket right next to the folded mitt. Kida who later used that mitt over the years had a tendency to be violent but nobody ever realised theyd all used the same mitt. So now Wilson is donning a murder mask for a revenge prank that will inevitably go very very wrong.

Just seeing the thumbnail, I'm reminded of the Jun Death Guards from The Beastmaster. If you should happen to make another, stain it black, ad a few metal studs/spikes, attach some sickly green LEDs in the bottom of the eye holes, then black out the eyes by gluing bits of black mesh (like pantyhose) in the eye holes. Then break out the rest of your black, spiked covered leather gear and boom! You're an early '80s fantasy monster!
