If you need a laser cutter I highly reccomend checking with your local maker space. You may be able to rent cut time. So be as fancy as you want.

The main branch of our library has a really nice maker space with lots of fun/interesting equipment. And they only charge you for any consumed materials, not for using equipment/space/run times, none of that.

#tree #crack I've been cracking whips for 14 years now since I was 8 and now I finally have a friend group that is bringing me into their dnd world too. I just finished creating my character Belreak Brushwood. He's a himbo half elf rogue for lack of better words and he has a bullwhip. This would be something amazing to add to my kit whenever I get to cosplay Belreak at a larp or something!
@AzraelThanatos Жыл бұрын
#CRACK If you want an easy defuser for light with something like the first one, just use acryllic and a light roughing with sandpaper. Make sure it's the interior side there when you do it. As a major warning concerning using leather with a laser, if you're using the cheaper chrome tan options, do not use a laser with it. If it's from some of the more known tanneries and/or sources, you're fine, but there's several that use an older method that uses a not so safe form of the chromium that goes toxic when lasered...modern and more standard chrome tan use a different form that's safe to laser. I'd researched that a bit ago when I lasered out a few maps on a laser etcher as gifts. Just don't go cheap for the leather and you're fine as most suppliers use the standard type, but you can get some cheap import ones that aren't so good there.

Congratulations on the laser cutter! I hope you won't forget to keep reminding us of how to do things by hand, considering the motivating effect of this channel comes in large part from _anyone can cook._ But it's so sweet how you have a way of shortening repetitive tasks, or making many more copies of something. Or just making neat and nifty things.

Sir! I suggest you purchase some 1x2x3 blocks. They are designed for machinists but they are heavy, dead square, and have threads you can screw things into. Excellent for weighing things down, or keeping things square to each other if, say, you need to hot glue them together.

I think the little lantern could be a part of an even more cool project that would be pretty fun to try. Those paper lanterns that fly in the sky with a candle in them also work to just float depending on the weight. I'll try it to see if my theory works, but imagine attaching the lantern made of light basswood to a string and a rock or other weight. Then attach strings to a paper lantern large enough to float the smaller lantern with a few tea lights keeping it afloat. Bam. A floating lantern to place outside your larp tent with a lighted balloon above it! Great way to find your way back to your tent maybe?

#Tree I would really love to see what sort of concept and final design you could come up with for a Skill Tree championship belt. Like, I don't know if you're much of a wrestling fan but if you are it would be cool to see what you'd come up with. Plus it's a great opportunity to experiment with and showcase a ton of the skills already touched upon on this channel, like leather tooling and dyeing, metal casting and plating (I really want to learn how to do multi-type casting, like to plate the lip with gold/brass, the background with silver/nickel, and the logo with copper just as an example. The project would also be a chance to work on other skills like painting details/fill on metal as well as setting stones. Plus it's just really fun to walk around with one of these big honkin' belts over your shoulder. Like you just can't help but stand up a little straighter and strut a bit.

If you change the #tree for something more personal, from your gaming group or favorite books, you should be able to #crack these out as gifts for the winter holidays ready to pounce. Only two and a half months to make something for everyone! Not to mention party decor for Halloween. I see that as only eight weekends to devote to crafting (November is jammed).
