Skilsaw Repair - Replacing the On-Off Switch (Skil Part # 2610321608)

I found an old worm drive skillsaw the other day on trash night. A little gift from the tool gods.. Cord wasn't even messed up.. Trigger didn't have a clicking sound.. I plugged it in.. No go.. Looks like I'm gonna need a new switch. Unless there is a way to fix the switch itself. This saw is really a must have for large construction projects.. My dewalt is light but will never compare to a worm drive skillsaw.. They work so well I'm suprised skill is still making them. My half sister had a newer skillsaw brand saw that was about like my Dewalt.. They are good for 2x4 or 1/2" ply but they get all bindy on anything more than that..Thanks for the demo! Hi. Great video. I have a Makita circular saw, and, because when simply picking it up off the bench it's all tooo easy to accidentally pull the trigger, I'd like to make a safety pin to lock the trigger when not in use. I'm wondering if the trigger is completely hollow and there'd be no problem drilling a small hole to insert a pin at its rear end where it enters the handle casing? Or is there something inside the trigger, e.g a spring or wires(s) that could be damaged by drilling the hole? Perhaps there any better ideas on how to make a simple trigger lock ?

Is the position of the two field wires important? In other words, if I reverse the position of the two field wires, will it cause a problem?

I have a Black and Decker Quantum BD4500 I had to replace trigger switch due to the plastic was broken.. So I ordered one but wasn't working instead my house lights shut off when I press trigger so instead I put two lead black wires on the left side and the power cord wires on the right side the white wire I put up and black wire I put down and it works I tested it few times.
