Thanks for donating to the women's shelter. I used to work in a non-profit recovery house for women and they often come from jail without ANYTHING-they have no underwear, tampons, socks, hair brushes, deodorant...I wish everyone would donate their unused or lightly used skin care and makeup, etc. To these organizations because having nothing to take care of yourself is not a good way to start rebuilding your life and these products are really expensive for non-profits to buy over and over.

Love all the content you provide. You have completely changed my view of cosmetics, skincare and suncare. I went from a wildly complicated (with underwhelming results) and wearing makeup everyday (not heavy, but foundation was mandatory) to a much simpler routine. My skin is THE BEST it’s ever looked, I’m spending far less on skincare and makeup and I don’t feel nearly as self-conscious going without makeup. I’ve switched to wearing the tinted Elta md and it alleviates the redness on my otherwise pretty healthy skin. Thanks so much for providing quality information!
@jt81425 жыл бұрын
Yogabish: Great post and results! 👏 Which tinted EltaMD sunscreen product are you using? I use EltaMD UV Physical but have been thinking of trying some of their other tinted sunscreens to see which one is my favorite.
@Thetinyfit5 жыл бұрын
JT I use the EltaMD UV Elements Broad Spectrum SPF44. This is the first tinted SPF I’ve ever used, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I really love this stuff. Since changing my skincare and makeup my skin is more smooth and bouncy, but I have a bit of redness and although this SPF doesn’t over much coverage, it does cancel out the red. I also consider my skin to be pretty sensitive, and I live in extreme heat (Arizona) and this product has caused no adverse reactions on my skin! I had seen this on Dray channel and put up an IG story asking for recommendations and this was far and away the most popular suggestion, especially by friends that are aestheticians. Give it a try!

It’s not water resistant though.

Thanks for going over these products. La Roche Posay was a brand I trusted so much I bought their Micellar water without checking ingredients and was shocked when I used it as it contained a lot of fragrance and caused an eczema flare. @nusqad4275 жыл бұрын
Yes plz....... wanna know so bad too
@patrickloiselle37675 жыл бұрын
@@nusqad427 I think that she spoke on this topic before. I know that I'm not Dr. Dray and do not have her credentials, but as far as I know, filaments are not dangerous and will keep coming back no matter what. You can keep pushing them out if you find them unsightly, but remember that the nose is a sensitive area. A comedone extractor doesn't always work the best in that region. I have NOT used those, but I have heard good things from friends who picked at filaments and any small spot that they found on their nose (to minimize any potential scars or trauma): www.wishtrend.com/skin-care/1126-blackhead-silk-finger-ball-cosrx.html Not sure if they are Dr. Dray approved or not, but I am sure that she would likely advise not to pick but knows that we're going to do it anyways haha...so let's do it in the safest way possible. Filaments come back pretty much 24 hours after you empty them...
@maggieprice3575 жыл бұрын
I think she does cover this in her blackhead video. I’d check that out! I know she has said before that sebaceous filaments will always come back and the size of them and noticeably and generally the size of pores is a genetic thing that can’t be “fixed”. She always recommends salicylic acid washes for blackheads and acne in general.

@4:08 For tinted sunscreen, try Amavara. I use to use the tinted Australian Gold botanical face sunscreen, but I would randomly get deep cystic acne while using it. Since switching to Amavara, I have not had as severe acne. The tint is a lot more natural too, and far easier to wash off the skin compared to Australian Golds formula.
@wap91375 жыл бұрын
Alexandria L does it dry matte? Is the tint a light tint?
@alexandrial67385 жыл бұрын
@@wap9137 It doesn't have that natural matte that Australian Gold has. There is a glow, but its not an oil streak glow. It's an all over glow. It really depends on what you use under it. During the day, I would use CeraVe moisturizing cream, but it was so thick it would give my whole face an almost underwater look. Like I'm not sweating, I'm not oily, I'm just highlighted everywhere. It was coming off to easily so I started playing around with setting spray. Now I use Gerard Setting Spray after moisturizing and before sunscreen application. This gives the skin a more natural, less all over wet look, but the glow is still there. My go too now is after washing my face: 1) e.l.f. superhydrate gel moisturizer 2) Gerard setting spray 3) Amavara SPF 50. I use the above combo because I can easily reapply sunscreen at my arid, sunny, tree-less university. I love make up, but I love my cancer-less skin more (*knock on wood*). Only disappointing factor is that my Gerard setting spray is not available unscented, but I'm planning to try other matte setting sprays to get the finish I want.

I don't know how I missed this video in July, and I'm sorry I did. I'm a follower, and started using almost all Vanicream/Vaniply products thanks to you, Dr. Dray. However, i had one "hangover" product, Botanics skin oil. Earlier this year, my face and neck began breaking out with hives and horrible itching. Of course, the more I itched, the more I scratched. I had marks on my face, and I was taking Benadryl twice per day to alleviate all of this. I even had a prednisone injection, and a followup of a prednisone taper regimen. I saw a Dallas dermatologist that told me whatever was happening was likely allergies, and she will be doing skin patch testing. I've had skin allergies since I was about three, and I'm in my late 50s now, so this is nothing new. The Vanicream products have helped so much, so thank you, Dr. Dray. I discovered a site yesterday, skinsafe.com, and after further reading, I discovered that the Botanics oil has Citronellol, an ingredient like citronella, used in mosquito repellant!! Egads. I immediately discontinued using this product, and my skin is not itching, and the redness and hives has cleared. If it weren't for Dr. Dray and her minimalist approach to skin care, I would never have investigated this so thoroughly. I wish Houston and Dallas were closer together; I would have come to Dr. Dray's office. Thank you for the great service you share with us YT'ers.

she's mentioned them before and she generally isn't a fan. Lush products have tons of fragrance, they use a lot of natural ingredients which as we know aren't always great for the skin, and i think they don't use too many preservatives.

Also just started using Vanicream's lip spf. :) If you're looking for ideas for products to test for viewers - I just heard about Amavara sunscreen (it's a reef safe zinc sunscreen). And I got one of Coola's "tinted" lip spfs - that might be a good option for people who still want to put pigment on their lips but protect them as well. Like a 2-in-1. :)

I don't use facial mist all that often but when I want a bit more moisture before applying my skincare, I just use an upcycled spray bottle that I filled with plain distilled water. I'm with you on sheet masks. They never fit well, fall off, irritate my eyes and leave a sticky film on the skin. Yuck! And they're wasteful adding to our ever-growing landfills.
