Thank you for the explanation on “how to use the metal blades!” Thank you so very much for the education.🙂

I appreciate your channel. I mainly use detachables but for a while I would need to go back and detail with my masters. Your technique really helped me step my game up. Keep dropping fire content.

I appreciate you dropping this tutorial! Do you keep the pressure towards the middle/back of the blades even when setting your 00000 and 1 guide lines?
@PhilthyBlendz5 жыл бұрын
Chris Eldridge I put the 00000 blade in hard since I’m not pressing I’m just making the foundation of the fade. Same with the OA blade. I set those guidelines hard and even as possible. When I start to fade with the 3 and 2 I use more of the middle and flick off when I get lower then the 2 to the 1 1/2 I use the heel of the blade the bottom and maybe 3 teeth rotating my clipper to one side and going off the head. When I get down to the 1A 1 and 0a I use maybe a tooth or two detailing and really just hovering over the guideline. Always make sure to make ti two guidelines the skin and half line as neat and symmetric as possible. Then I flick the line out with the 000 barely hovering you see in the video I made a line again don’t freak out just go two steps above (1 blade) and fade back down to get rid of the line you made on accident. Also in the video I didn’t show but I put the 0a blade on where the 1a should’ve went and made a huge line and had ti fade back down because if you try to fix that mess up fading up you’ll raise the fade

Did you zero gap any of the detachables?
@PhilthyBlendz4 жыл бұрын
M Navarro no I don’t mess with detachable blades because they’re too precise and don’t have a lever just have to use back of the blades and hover to blend in other guards

Much faster, and cleaner cut.

I started at a shop with 3 men in their 70s and 80s. Fresh from school and no experience. I was taught at a redkin school, "educated" by cosmetologists using the guard system. They had me put those away and buy detachables. I rarely use adjustable blades, mostly for flattops. They definately produce a smother cut once you learn how to use em.
@Forw10724 жыл бұрын
rickie featherstone I agree. I learned how to use detachables before I ever touched a plastic guard. I think Alotta young barbers use plastic guards because when u first start cutting u more than likely pick up and adjustable clipper frm the store waaaaaay befor u ever even get a pair of detachable blades
@alrossi25733 жыл бұрын
@@rickiefeatherstone I had the same experience as a young Barber right out of school. I worked in a five chair shop with veteran barbers and the owner absolutely would not allow you to use plastic guards. I’m so thankful that I learned from the “ Old School Barbers” 😊
