I did every campaign with every faction at every start, romanced and historical, modded, unmodded, challenge campaigns mp/coop etc. I started playing after seeing your first vids of 3k that convinced me to get the game. After so many hours wasted in the game despite my love for it I can't go back I simply know how to play and how it will develop already. The fact you still upload 3k videos amazes me you have really strong dedication to the channel and fans after years of 3k, thank you ST :)

It's still the best total war game for historical fans. I still go back to 3K and I've been playing since launch. I also find myself playing Lui Bei even though I've done around 5 campaigns with him already.

in technicality, dong zhou actually stayed loyal, it's just that he doesn't care/know fully how important about court politics and manners. That's mostly the main trope in ancient china, northerners : brutally honest and dumb southerners : polite but shrewd every northerner wanted to be closer to the capital as a career path which makes sense why zilong agreed hastily to join liu bei. also why lu bu switch lords everytime he receives something, just that he rushed too much it cost him lol.

Very Nice start of Dong Zhuo MOH. I think my favorite MOH faction is Lu Zhi, as his library is literally like having another heir/PM that give 5 faction-wide bonus that you can pick and choose. Also his unbreakable spear unit.

@1:08:04 Not necessarily a spy. Character can sometimes left a faction without grudges. Take Yu Jin at 1:14:54 for example. He left Liu Hong without a grudge, even though the faction was not dead yet. It just happened that he is willing to spy that guaranteed his innocence, others who left a faction without grudges but has trait that prevent them from willingly spy could exist. In this starting date in particular, most faction will have not yet reach second marquis rank, meaning they cannot employ a spy (except for Cao Cao of course and some very specific reform which no one should have reach in early game). Sun Jian should not have enough territory to reach the rank at the time. There is a way to check a faction rank in diplomacy window. When you talk to them, faction rank will display below the portrait.

It's weord if we'd take Dong Zhuo's Conqueror Blade to be found in some farm plot out west when Xiang Yu does in Gaixia... Which is far from Xiliang. And it's even funnier when Dong Zhuo finally knows this jade cutting sword by the clever Cai Yong, who could be an elderly exiled hermit before, or a pardoned scholar official sympathetic to his Iron Fisted rule during his tyrannical regency.

When I played this, Liu Bei was wiped very early, allowing me to hire him and his brothers. I executed the former (of course) and used the brothers to take all of the West. It was the "Let Beigongs be Beigongs" campaign.

I'm glad you give generics some spotlight. Even though they appear the same, their name is honored like Xu Rong. 🎉 I actually think he was an excellent general and commander of his armies. The Liang rebels screwed themselves over by 1v1ing. Lol. They could of 2v1 and had the 3rd army coming from the other side. I don't know if to be disappointed by the AI wanting 1v1 or surprised by the AI move coming from behind in that span of time. Lol They were definitely underestimating you. Those generals were too arrogant.

just have a few armies there to farm them for your intimidation points. They always appear in 5 possible locations (3 in Wuwei and 2 in Shuofang) and only appear in the summer season after a round of faction council.

Hey Serious Trivia, 1. When was the first recording of Dong Zhuo being very Fat and in your Dong Zhuo lore series, You did not use his fat portrait til he escape to Chang'an. 2. Is there any records and what do you believe what foods that Dong Zhuo eat that made him very fat? And another fat tyrant name Henry VIII eat mostly fatty fish, eels and roasted birds and whine with sugar that made him very fat. 3. You should keep an eye out for Ding Yuan because he away get wiped out fast in the Mandate of Heaven DLC and that bugs out the Lu Bu event and you should prepare give him some of your settlement in case.

1. there is no real records of him being fat aside from a (fictional) source that talks about how someone lit a candle on the inside of his body after he was killed and how his fat sustained the light for many days. Most future video game depictions just basically rolled with that and made him fat. 2. Since the being fat part is probably fictional, the question here is not relevant. 3. Luckily I will get pretty much all the events to trigger correctly

How can you tell whether someone is a spy or not?

You can tell who cannot be a spy. If they are willing to spy (the eye icon) then they can’t be a spy because there are no double agents in the game. If they left the previous faction on a grudge meaning that they left because their satisfaction dropped to zero then they can’t be a spy. Lastly if their previous faction was destroyed then they can’t be a spy. Anyone else can be a spy and just to be safe, I don’t recruit.
