This achievement for Yan Baihu is probably the hardest in the entire game. Just got it myself last week because how the AI determines Coalition/Alliance values is insanity.

@@SeriousTrivia True, but when i became emperor as Yan Baihu and invited Liu Bei and other faction who were weak to my empire it gave me 3 points for each of them, like i invited 3 of them to my empire and i had 9 points in WTC, thats how i got the achievement, so technically you dont need 8 coalition/alliance members, at least i didnt, maybe its a bug, but as you said this wont be full campain then you probably wont use this.

Yan Baihu's faction mechanic is pretty reverse of what you want. I maybe would have liked it if it made research faster at the cost of recruitment cost. Also to get those coalition bonuses you basically have to spend on diplomacy early game, get all the non agression and military acces out early so everyone like you and all around you. recruitment cost is maybe 6-10K once per army, so 20% discount is a one time saving of 2K. recruitment is not upkeep. I think they got it backwards and maybe tried to implement -% cost on connections so it goes faster, instead of +% connection cost making it slower. Its basically the most ignorable faction mechanic in the game, because full or not full, it doesnt influence much. on the highest point you saved 2 or 4K on recruitment cost but miss out of 2 reforms, or on the lowest scale you missed out on saving 2-4K recruitment cost but have 2 more reforms. I know I'd pick 2 more reforms. especially with that heir you need the +8 statisfaction 2 more reforms can give. Im not sure your explenation on more costly connections means its faster. By that time you can measure it you need 20% faster research and those come from bandit encampments. but by that time another 10% from faction mechanics wont impact the research time for most connections anymore. by duke level you can get about 15% at least per commandery if you build it right. bandits can rlly boost their connections rate, 1 in capital and 1 per province in commandery

Hi Trivia, I'm the Li Jue's campaing guy (not the best introduction I know but pls hear me out). If you want to try a new campaing just for fun after collecting the achivements, try to play Beigong Boyu in the Mandate start (using a mod oviously), you start with no army, no buildings in your commandery (Wuwei), after the Mandate war starts you get dragged into a fight with everyone as part of the Liang rebellion event (you are NOT in an alliance with Han Sui and Ma Teng, so extra danger there), Dong Zhuo is your neighbour so you gonna have to fight him and deal with the confederation even with Lu Bu and Ding Yuan. You also are limited to only qian units (not even reform lock units are avaliable), and when the Emperor comes to an age you are an automaticallly declared enemy of the Han, so good bye diplomacy. And on top of that, the Yellow Turbands can also win the war, so you cannot just leave them be. I know I know, I shouldn't recommend anything after Li Jue's blunder of a campaing, but hey! Two thing I don't have are dignity and money. And commenting is free!

i play a lot coop with a friend, we're both not very good players BUT i watch your videos so he thinks i'm a very good player lol (he cant bcuz he doesnt understand english) We just finished a Dong Zhuo (me)-Meng Huo (him) last week and we had already talked about starting a Yan Baihu (me) - Mulu (him) this weekend. I think you should do a campaign where you make an empire and only hold 1 of either capitals as either someone who declared as an emporer irl or give your faction to dong on succession and conquer the map giving away to empire members, it's only because you don't usually use the empire mechanic

its pretty much just the vassal system but it does sound like an interesting idea. So basically we will only hold the emperor seats and given away all other commandery to subjects?

Yh basically, the emperor seats and chang'an/louyang with their settlements included, of course. Maybe you can add more flavour to it, but I think it will be an interesting challenge

I wonder if vassals count towards an achievement like that. Like you create a coalition with 1 faction but you have like 6 vassals, would that count? Wait, can bandits even have vassals? I know they can BE vassals, but I believe not annexed by han factions.

To get this achievement i had to take over 80% of the map, stretching through the entire north and west, and release vassals in single commanderies as indepenent factions and hope that their opinion would be high enough of each other to join my coalition. I believe something like every 1 out of 3 released factions would actually agree to it (with heavy concessions). Trying to get normal factions such as Liu Bei to join was a nightmare

I remember when doing this achievement and the Yuan Shao one, I also had to mess around with the administrator and vassal system. Granting administrators independence until I had enough vassals and dragging them all into the same war made them really like each other. They really started liking me when I began liberating them and got very happy seeing their allies get liberated. They all had a high diplomatic attitude towards me and with each other. They were also all at war with the same enemies, so they were eager to form a big coalition. May have just been lucky, but it worked two for two so far in my campaigns!

My mistake in second campaign to get Sun Ce in coalition(I destroy his faction in first try but all goes...). Sun Ce ai is a dick who try destroy other members. After getting coalition I also try beat campaign as bandit emperor so my campaign end at year 230+.

There are plenty of no cheese runs…I mean I have done a fair bit of records mode runs even at this point. Your one county run can look at Zheng Jiang campaign I did recently or the Lu Bu campaign I did a while back

I played my Yan Baihu champagn for so long, so his son, who was a sentinal, become my best fighter with really good trait..i married Sun Ce's mother though..she have a lot of authority,help for satisfaction, as you know..
