I lived through the baggy clothes era and personally I’ll never go back I love fitted clothing (not skin tight painted on jeans) but stuff that compliments your physique. It depends where you live and the social circle/age range. In the UK where I’m from in a smaller city the style that people generally have is quite boring most guys are not really fashion oriented and they pretty much just wear tracksuits or skinny jeans and designer brands. However the younger people more influenced by TikTok and the latest fashion trends tend to have more of a baggy streetwear look. Also bigger cities that are more metropolitan and diverse tend to have wider style varieties.

I never understood baggy pants at all ? They did not look good in the 90s, and they still don't look good now. With that said , when talking about comfort ? Man WOW ! Todays skinny jeans are so damn comfortable. Even the spray on skin tight jeans feel so good ? Again I'm not talking what's in or cool now ? I'm talking about feel and comfort. Today's skinny jeans are not your older brothers skinny jeans from 2010. They have the super 4 way stretch. And are super soft ! You can even do a gym workout in them or sleep in them ! Because they are that comfortable ! Yea in the early 2010s Skinny Jeans were hard to wear . And you had to wear them a good while to break them in to be more comfortable. But todays skinny are so different than the early days of skinnies.
