lol up until I hit middle school into high school, Gen 3 was the spotlight of Skins and no one cared for it as much anymore at that point in time. But during early 7th to 8th grade, Gen 2 was all the talk, and girls and guys would constantly take on the roles of Effy and Cook. It was a real patchy time growing up with Skins. lol But all of the drama and bullshit was eventually made up for it if you didn't get into it so bad.

I dunno something about season 1's opening always really grabbed me the hardest, the buildings at the beginning and the song in its original form. It just encapsulated that time very well for me, I was a high schooler at the exact same time this show was going on. I woulda been in their grade. It's all so bittersweet though. But this one is almost right there with it. But hey that's just me.

I'm Italian, I've never seen TV series with teenagers protagonists, they never interested me. Nor the English ones.But I have just finished the second season of Skins and I'm listening to this intro with a strange feeling of emptiness in my stomach. Skins is a different serie than all the others, it awakens adolescence in all of us. And it's special, even in 2019. And the intro is just flawless

i think its because the opening intro music feels like a mixuture of sims music and the old fliphones and blackberry ring tones it feels like im getting ready to boot up the sims, it feels like im about to see my sims and look into their lives and see them grow and face struggles and have fun then you hear the ringing and it makes you feel a certain amount of nostalgia because it reminds us all so much off old phones and when we were all excited over things like texting and the minor touch screen technology the song is so weird and the video is just a collage of the characters messing around, but it creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and relatability because it feels almost like a collage of a time in our lives

Yeah they should have run with the characters of season 1 and 2 and kept it going. The writers erroneously thought that the shows success lay with the extreme teen experience - it didn't. It was successful because the characters were messed up and made genuinely bad decisions. They were in f*cked up situations and just had to go with it - they weren't always logical. They were teenagers. This was something all teens could relate to. Replacing the cast with even more deplorable characters which no-one cares about was a big mistake. Even if I did start to warm to JJ and Freddie for example (who were good characters), they were taken out before I could actually grow to like them. The writers on the show were novices, so they were raw in their write, which was good. But they clearly didn't understand their audience at all.

Me, a small town girl who moved into a big city is so hard to connect with others, it’s weird for me but somehow I connect with these characters in a way.. it’s so hard to explain it.
