She doesn't get special privelege or protection because she's female. she's a ref, and a professional ref on the professional stage, it doesn't matter if she's female if she makes poor calls she gets called out on it. that's it.

This is all bullshit. Women complain about equal rights but when their treated equally they get all butt-hurt and start crying sexist. People make comments all the damn time about men. But say something about women and its on the news. If she can't deal with a player asking why then she in fact doesn't belong in the nba.

Skip Bayless has no idea what he's taking about. Chris Paul is one of the most respectful basketball players in the NBA and in my opinion would never gender bias. I believe he was just mad at the call and was a little heated afterwards to where he said somethings he shouldn't have. The league fined him for it that's that lets move on people.

I'm a fan of both Skip and Stephen A. But come on Skip, really? He deserved a tech?She made a bad call and everyone knows it. He didn't say anything disrespectful, the nba even said she was "justified " yet did not clarify what she claims was said to her. For the most part the story always comes out as far aw what occurred or what was said. Now she may be the first female in the nba and they want to protect her but don't let her ego make her the next Joey Crawford. We just got rid of him and she doesn't need to be quick to make the attention on her. Players always question refs! Doesn't matter male or female. Refs miss and make bad calls regardless

The Bigger problem with this scenario is the fact that if Paul were to receive a fine for an Opinion, of which is clearly NOT sexist and is NOT disrespecting her as a woman and if you are of that opinion, i don't think you understand the definition of the word misogyny. Paul's "Controversial" comment "This isn't for her." he ABSOLUTELY would have said the same thing if the official was a Male... How anyone tries to use this as an argument for Paul being sexist has an agenda. Male or Female... it DOESN'T matter. If you aren't a Professional Referee who knows the game, has played the game and understands all or at-least the vast majority of its aspects, you should NOT be a referee at ANY level. How did Lauren, a first year NBA referee think that T-ing up Paul for asking a question was a vaild reason for such a call? She was a ref in the fucking D-League for christ sake, she should have known better!
@DjNic118 жыл бұрын
This isn't about Chris Paul disrespecting a ref because she's a woman it's about Chris Paul saying something not remotely positive about the league having a ref who would make such terrible calls.

Pretty sure he just meant that she catches too many damn feelings, other refs go through a lot worse and don't give out stupid T's. What Chris Paul said did not warrant a tech.
@malinaoliphant47264 жыл бұрын
Chris Paul gave an opinion about how she just an awful ref and said that this might not be the job for her and everyone called him sexiest after. People need to grow No matter if was man or woman he would have said same thing.
@gallyturndrop53205 жыл бұрын
This is an old video but it astonishes me how they can strip all the context away from that quote. "This might not be for her" is not close to giving someone the proper gloves to talk about that situation.
@darrick14269 жыл бұрын
Randy Moss, Marshawn Lynch, and Barry Bonds...this is why they hated talking to the media...you can't say what you want to say, and when you do say something , it's blown way out of proportion. In Chris Paul's case, this is not a matter of gender biased, it's his personal opinion about a rookie Ref. Yes, he would have said the same about a rookie ref thats a male. No, Chris Paul is no angel, but I don't like the fact that Cari Champion and Skip Bayless tries to make Chris look like a bad guy here. This really sucks; you make millions of dollars, but you can't have an opinion. To all you up and coming athletes, remember, once you make it pro, there isn't anymore freedom of speech. Now, this is my opinion.
@danecranberry60252 жыл бұрын
I'll never forget when some hack sportscaster at WPXI in Pittsburgh played up a 15-second clip of Barry shouting at an umpire. The said, "Barry Bonds goes crazy!" Barry hadn't played for the MLB Pirates for a year, and many MLB umpires do mediocre jobs. It's a sorry thing that the hack got away with that.
@gregorycastillo47999 жыл бұрын
This would not be national news, we would only be aware of it when the league fined Paul. This all has to due with the referee being female, she did a bad job handling the situations. And Paul did a bad thing about complaining after the game. Just fine him and lets move on.

A bad ref is a bad ref. As a former player and as a coach i know that they come in all shapes and sizes and with both genders. There have been games where the female was more dependable than the male official, and vice versa. She got herself into an arena that is known for extreme criticism. When you go on a tyrannical technical foul tirade like joey crawford this is going to happen. She is a NBA official and was criticized as so. It is not sexist the criticize her officiating, in fact i would argue that it is sexist to NOT criticize her officiating. If she wants to be treated like male official then she needs to be criticized like one as well. I was critical of the official that threw out technicals against the T-Wolves when Kevin Love played for them, and Joey Crawford. If you make bad calls expect to be boo'd its part of the game and the profession.
@ashanemcpherson12388 жыл бұрын
i never seen a referee do that before
@maxpuppy967 жыл бұрын
You just can't ring them up for that, I officiated for 20 years you talk to players when he said how comes no uh uh I would have said I set the pace not you, not ring him up NBA gets what they deserve. That's an example of referee;s wrecking the game.

I think it is sexist if we dont criticize her. If we want it to be equal then she is just as open to criticism for terrible officiating as the next guy. If I’m comfortable ripping Joey Crawford but not her then I believe that is way more sexist than the other way around.
