Look skip was wrong , there is no way to try and soften up a tackle the way skip wants it to. I coach football and most coaches are on the NFL‘s safer way of tackling ,almost Rugby style . Unfortunately like Sherman says when you have dynamic athletes you have to do something to slow them down, and to say just that one has covered sports without actually participating in the art of tackling is ignorant

Richard Sherman is right. You don’t tell a surgeon how to operate, you don’t tell a truck driver how to back a trailer, and you don’t tell a former all time great defender how to tackle, unless you’re qualified to do so. Skip was out of his depth on this.

I think the personalities he has there now are better. Keyshawn is just as good as Shannon. Key shows that you can keep it hood and still give spot on analysis without wearing a doo rag on your head and a black hanging from your mouth. That was embarrassing and really fed into the negative stereotypes that hang over black people. Stephen A is no better beating his chest about how nice his suits are and what type of plane he has, or juice with the brass at ESPN. Give me Key, Sherm& Irvin all day over that 🎪 at ESPN.

as a former D1 linebacker, there really is no way to stop another grown man running full speed trying to get away from you. injuries are unfortunate but they are a part of the game and we all know what we sign up for. to say there’s another way to tackle when a guy is running away from you clearly shows you’ve never tried to do it because that literally defies the laws of physics

Just because you didn't play pro football doesn't mean that one cannot analyze dirty, weak or unorthodox forms of tackling. Much harsher than remaining planted on the ground while grasping the ball carrier.

💯 percent agree with Richard, analysts that have never played the game don't know what type of situations they can be put in when trying to tackle someone n how hard it can be, Injuries have been in football since it started. It seems like ever since they have been trying to eliminate Injuries from the game seems they have been causing more. Stop trying to change football if you aren't physically gifted or tough enough to play then you shouldn't play. Or slide before you even have anyone remotely near you to avoid being injured.

Sherman completely manufactured this premeditated "gotcha" moment. To be clear i am not a Skip fan. I miss Shannon on the old show and haven't tuned in to this latest iteration. Richard Sherman flat out blew it. Sherman just couldn't be patient enough to let Skip genuinely get loud. Because its going to happen, Skip will revert back and get loud, and that's when you check him. But it wasn't here, not this time. And the true irony is twofold; Sherman getting angry and actually "raising" his voice at Skip, after accusing Skip of the same, effectively kicking his own platform/high ground out from under himself. Then Sherman lecturing Skip that opinion can only come from experience, begging the question if Sherman really believes that, why is Sherman participating in a show featuring Skip?

Right, I played semi-pro football for years and these guys are almost impossible to bring down sometimes. I've personally never made a tackle like that but just sacking a QB is hard as hell. A lot of the times those guys are just as big if not bigger than you. My playing weight was 220 so when you're going after a RB that's 5'10 235 running 4.5 40 good luck with an arm tackle. I'm not sure if I would even enjoy playing in today's rules. Ray Lewis always said to leave the game alone, the game will take care of itself.

Then when they can't contain the emotions any longer, they blow up like Richard and Shannon. Keyshawn hasn't had his episode yet. It's only a matter of time. You do understand that this is personal for a whole group of current and former NFL players right? I didn't see Sherman in his 'feelings'. If you haven't played defense you cannot fathom trying to tackle a 250 lb man who runs 4.3 40 and has the strength of a truck. On the other hand we've got to find a solution to these types of gruesome injuries. I think that if you're not strong enough to bring the runner down without the hip drop, you've lost and he should score the touchdown.

@@ogkingblvdHe is the Alpha! You want to kill a man's passion? You're like the NBA referee who calls a tech when a guy dunks the winning basket and screams for joy. No, no fellas let's remain calm. Really? Get out!!

@redformaze5968 regardless. Skip sat quietly and let that man ramble on and repeat the same thing over and over, and as soon as skip starts speaking, sherm bust in with the same thing he been saying for 5 minutes lol. Maybe it is a personal topic, but sherm don't play anymore..he needs to calm down always 1 sentence from angry on tv. You calling it passionate...but he's a grown vet and it's still too sensitive.

@@RBZ-1 And Skip Bayless is not sensitive and angry? Skip Bayless doesn't cut people off with his rants also? I don't know what your issue is with Sherman but I'm done. I can't continue this conversation. I played college ball and I understand Sherman's passion about the game. It's all he's known for over half his life. I'm through.

@@alpharob6959 Well oh well..Skip got away with talking down to people for years and people had to hold back becuase they knew he would get rid of them. So if he has to hold back because he is loosing viewers, it is what it is.

I didnt see this mentioned elsewhere but Richard (who i have been very critical of) deserves a TON of credit here - he is a man who played at a high level, who was a champion, who played injured - Richard knows what he is talking about, his take shouldnt be glossed over.
