Noah Rogers I'll tell you why Oklahoma didn't throw it all over the field in second half. in the first half it really looked like UGA was scared of OU. and stayed in zone defense the whole first half. so worried about OUs passing game. in the second half UGA played a lot of press man on OU. and went after Baker in the second half. basically UGA imposed their will on OU. I'm not a fan of either team so my thoughts on the game are not colored by the team colors.

It irritates me that the 1st half was treated like Oklahoma just playing well, not that UGA was playing poorly, but the second half wasn’t UGA’s D stepping up and playing well , it was just Oklahoma choking. Give me a break! These games are a shock to the system to these teams, never playing another team that good all year. Oklahoma’s offense shocked UGA in the first half because they’d never faced anything like that. But in the second half they adjusted and Oklahoma’s playcalls suddenly didn’t work because they’d never faced a D with that depth and athleticism

What really killed OU were that they were overly conservative with their playcalling during the OTs. Come on, they have the best QB in college football and were throwing short passes and screens against a pretty good front seven, throw that thing down the field. That 4th and 1, they should have gone for it, they have a very good run block oline, how could you trust in your tired defense which, by the way, is awful even against the BIG12 opponents.

The difference between the two wasn’t so obvious after all. Fromm completed 20 of 29 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. He committed no turnovers. Mayfield (23-for-25, 287 yards, two TDs) might have made more big plays, but he also made more mistakes. He threw an interception that led to a Georgia touchdown and he was sacked five times, two or three of which could have been avoided if he got rid of the ball.

Not once did you even give credit to a defense that literally flipped that ballgame! The second half was OWNED by the Ga. defense. Roquan was moving so fast that the cameras couldn’t keep up with him! Both corners SHUT DOWN all split WO routes! And in my opinion one of the best TE’s in college was smothered like Chicken Fried Chicken from TGI Friday’s. Stop getting all googly eyed at the Mister Wonderful‘s of the game and focus on the technical expertise that good teams demonstrate week in and week out. That was just unprofessional Skip.......

@Mikee Hammerpants If you are addressing Skip, an admitted Sooner fan, why are you complaining all he is doing is lamenting OU's loss in a close game?

Give GEORGIA's DEFENSE credit. They made the big stops, interceptions, sacks and OU ONLY scored 7 pts in the second half. The 2 half differences. ADJUSTMENTS!!
@dhill8357 жыл бұрын
You guys need to get real. UGA fumble for 7 and missed FG, those are the only reasons it went into OT to begin with. UGA came back out from halftime, made the adjustments and shut them down. Only 10 offences points in second half.

im a alabama fan and we all knew that georgia's run game was gonna tire out ou's defense.... after the 1st half was over kirby smart told the georgia d that ou was gonna run trick plays and instead of looking trying to figure out the trick play...keep your eyes focused on Baker Mayfield. Then in OT they blocked the field goal and handed the ball off to sonny michel

UGA didn't win the game?!? Let's break this down Joel, cause that's what you like to do... Second half, UGA's offense and defense play lights out. The defense Held OU to 7 offensive points. SEVEN. in second half. Did you see Roquan Smith put hats on those OU boys? Go back and watch Smallwood get hit from #3. All the sudden you wanna talk like OU players aren't good enough to be on the field. THAT should be your clue right there that lets you know your bias. The offense scored 24 unanswered points to give the Dawgs the lead. Fromm marched the dawgs down the field in 4th quarter, under pressure and put them in position to tie. BUT THEY DIDN'T WIN THE GAME!? WHAT TEAM TOTALLY DOMINATES THE OTHER IN ALL PHASES (2nd half) AND DOESN'T GET CREDIT FOR WINNING THE GAME?? ok... let's just continue this and look at the other side of the field. "Best line in football" gives up 5 sacks. WITH THE LEAD. Almost every pass thrown is either contested or in a tight window if completed. 'Naw it was OU's fault, not UGA' .. BLOCKED A FIELD GOAL FOR THE WIN... UGA DIDN't WIN IT!?!? ARE YOU DELUSIONAL!?

But didn't Georgia just allow 48 points? Is it really the defenses or is it the powerful offenses?
@jasonpritchett16917 жыл бұрын
MrWalkwaySc2 , I think it's lack of commitment to doing what it takes. Georgia got torched for 31 points in the first HALF. Then, taking away the scoop and score, gave up ONE touchdown in the 2nd half, and ONE field goal in two overtime possessions. The Dawgs did what it took.

Shannon said he didnt thing Georgia did anything different in the second half than the first. Are you kidding? That may be the dumbest analysis Ive heard of this game. Georgia got after Mayfield in the second half instead of just trying to contain him like in the first half. Fortunately, it worked. I think OU only had one first down and only 17 points in the second half.

when you have to trick someone that means you dont have the plays or players to win the game....oklahoma was still running trick plays up by 14 points...they didnt believe it....he's a younger version of Mike Leach...he'll have a lot of stats but never win anything....

Fidel Cashflow That was a pretty dumb comment.

Jãy2x HD That’s a true comment. Alabama never runs trick plays because they are the most talented team in the nation. They will line up and say our guys are better than yours. If your not as talented you have to use deception.
@jayso93597 жыл бұрын
Malcolm Hills Bama does run trick plays, its just not a big part of our offense but yea most of it is right but deception is the best way to catch a defense with their pants down. But that's like saying Cops are not good at catching bad guys because they use Undercover cops for deception. I don't agree with his statement.
