I will be the first to admit that UGA's defense stunk it up the 1st half. 2nd half OU had just over 100 yards, held to 10 offensive points, 17 counting the turnover scored on a fumble, and holding OU 1-10 on 3rd conversions. Yeah Georgia's defense showed them alright. Maybe Mayfield shouldn't have been yelling it's over and doing the throat slash in the first half.

Georgia 100% won this game. Yeah sure, Baker Mayfield's offense blew a 17 point lead, but as Max pointed out Georgia made the right plays on defense and just TOOK THE GAME from them. Just look at the blocked field goal for example. Georgia wasn't handed this game by any stretch of the imagination.

Georgia won this game. OU didn't blow it. OU was scoring at will in the first half making Georgia look lost. But Kirby Smart made the proper adjustments at halftime, and Georgia beat the Sooners. The pressure they put on Baker Mayfield was the difference the defense made and staying true in their running game was the difference the offense made.
@pkattk7 жыл бұрын
The defense played the same they've always been playing, they just executed better in the second half! I honestly think the defense was just a little bit antsy in the first half and bit down too much on what the offense was giving them rather than sticking to the plan.
@Gandalf_lion4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about Georgia’s adjustments, but in the end OU did blow it because the defense did not do their part I could have Held Georgia to less rushing yards than OU not to knock Georgia because Georgia is great but OU’s defense was AWFUL easily one of the worst defenses in college football. But another point to bring up why OU blew it is because of the conservative play calling they did in the second half and in BOTH overtimes. The thing in the end is Georgia played 100% aggressive for all six quarters (because there were two overtimes) and OU was 100% aggressive for only two quarters
@williamregal45627 жыл бұрын
That 3 points they gave up before halftime changed the momentum of the game!! Arrogant ass coaching bit you in the ass everytime
@DRock69067 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Another pivotal point in the game is when Georgia had taken the lead with about 10 minutes left. They abandoned the run game and started passing too much. They didn't eat up any clock and gave the ball back to OU and they drove the ball right down Georgia's throat to tie the game back up!
@OUrNit037 жыл бұрын
Cornell Blevins. Great point, I said at that exact time those 3 points would come back to haunt them. The kicker was kicking the damn ball out of the end zone the entire first half why not let him boom it, they take a knee at the 25 and you head into the locker room up 17 smh.

And this is why commentators (Stephen Smith) have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Georgia won the game for one simple reason... UGA made ADJUSTMENTS in the second half. They ran more stunts and twists to put pressure on Mayfield, switched to more man coverage (and press zone), and left Roquan as a spy on key plays. That upset what OU did all first half and why their gameplan fell apart when it mattered most. OU isn't known for tackle defense. It was a nightmare matchup for their Defense and as soon as UGA solved Mayfield they were off to the races. It was a great game. Hard fought by both teams. This game down to coaching, and we saw who was superior

I agree it's hard to fathom any team outside of this conference play such horrible defense. 102 pts in a playoff game is asinine and this is for both defenses. I'm not a fan of either team but if a Saban coach team gets 45 pts, guarantee Georgia will have less. That game was epic for how so many big plays these defenses gave up. Great no good defenses in playoff games don't allow this to happen.

Max is correct. With the way it all played from halftime till the end by Georgia clamping down and blocking the field goal that means Oklahoma didn't lose the game but Georgia just straight up TOOK it!! LMAO

That last part of the video is probably what I agree with the most. Why didn't they crowd the line of skrim and let the 19 yr old either choke or succeed, but you gotta gamble on that if Georgia is running all over you.

You can argue all you want about whether Georgia won it or Oklahoma blew it. All I know is had Georgia's offense been the same and that 2nd half defense had been there for the 1st half, then I am a firm believer this game wouldn't have been close. By like 2 scores.

Both teams had multiple chances to choke, but neither did. Georgia made one or two more plays. OU didn't fumble the game away like Georgia almost did. A UGA kid just blocked a kick, and our TE made a great block which took out two OU defenders to seal the edge on the game winner.

It was both. Oklahoma presented an opportunity and Georgia took it.

How did Oklahoma blow it when Georgia ran for 300 yards. That's not blowing it... That's just domination....

17 point lead before half then the short kick let them kick a field goal within a few sec before half which changed momentum.and overtime ou played scary running too much.

Oklahoma had that game and really blew it in the 2nd half

OU got wore down by the Georgia front on both sides just like Clemson did against the Alabama. It happens. They just gotta recruit that elite size and speed comp too

So according to Max, in the Super Bowl the falcons blew it, but in this game Georgia won it, even though they’re very similar??

Totally agree with you Stephen A. Smith! OU's Play callers got alligator arms especially in the 2nd half! Yes, as bad as OU's D stunk it up against the dogs run game they made enough stops 4 different times in the game to give their staff to call game winning plays with a Heisman QB & 2 smashmouth halfbacks of their own, one of which you mentioned went for 201 yards against a vaunted Dog D! OU was not far behind in the run game in total yards, they just didn't stay with their vertical power game enough in the 2nd half! They decided to go with slow developing horizontal run & pass plays in the 2nd half which played right into Georgia's hands! But give the Dogs credit, they made enough plays & OU didn't! BIG RED OU FAN FOR LIFE! GO DAWGS BEAT BAMA!

I kinda agree Oklahoma kinda blow it in overtime. I thought Oklahoma offense in overtime was too conservative. When Oklahoma defense force a field goal you needed your offense to score to end it quickly because Oklahoma defense wasn’t going to stop Georgia offense the second time. Especially the way Georgia offense was rolling in the second half.

Everyone is blaming OU's defense. Yes, they didn't play great, but they played good. They got stops. They forced Sony Michel to fumble the ball and ran it back for 6. Then Georgia came right back out on offense and the defense held them to a 3 and out. And in overtime they forced 2 field goals. The defense came in clutch, but the offense was no where to be found. And that's much to do with the play calling. And I'm a Gator fan, but im rooting for Georgia because I want an SEC East team to win for once.

At the end of the day it was Oklahoma A+Offense and B-Defense vs Georgia A+Defense and A- Offense

yayrwe It's Baker Mayfield bro....They went into 2OT to beat them....
@damainmane47657 жыл бұрын
yayrwe Georgia was down 21 dude,against Oklahoma...How come Baker couldn't score a touchdown in OT??He was done...This was they toughest test on offense to date...Georgia sacking the shit outta Baker....Blocking field goals....interceptions and turnovers....Oklahoma's B-defense wasn't as stellar as their A+offense,Georgia defense is what really won this game,they may not have shown up in the beginning but they damn sure showed up in the end were it mattered....
@damainmane47657 жыл бұрын
yayrwe which is on the part of defense...it's more than just skill ,everyone must be prepared mentally otherwise the entire system will self-implode...Georgia's defense kept Mayfield from making the game more worse than it could've been...and that botched squib kick proves your point even more that they were spooked...it was because of the bulldogs defense
@damainmane47657 жыл бұрын
yayrwe Name calling!!!😄you result to name calling why??Because I'm not saying Baker Mayfield played a solid game??You blaming the coach for what the team couldn't get done??...the stats don't mean jack shit if the W don't come along with it...Baker Mayfield showed up but his team settled with the lead...21 to nothing and you talking about what the coach did???Better questions to ask is how TF did Oklahoma let Georgia comeback??Why couldn't Oklahoma stop their drives anymore???Why did they squib kick???How TF did they go into OT??How TF did they go into double OT??Why can't Baker Mayfield close out that game???
@damainmane47657 жыл бұрын
yayrwe Stephen A is saying it in the video...they average 9 yards a carry...Both offenses was stellar A1...it came down to defense in the end and in the end all Oklahoma had to do was to get ONE MORE STOP...But instead Georgia stop them and got the win,stats don't mean a thing without that W...

Stephen Smith just can't give credit to UGA backs. He is arguing that 2 backs can't break runs like they did. They are not 1st string and 2nd string backs. They are both 1st string.
