Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James came to the defense of teammate Russell Westbrook when asked about Westbrook's play as of late. James was quoted saying: '[His] presence on the floor helps us,' despite Westbrook leading the NBA in turnovers. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss Westbrook's value to the Lakers and if he can help them win despite his turnovers.

Never seen a guy commit the same two types of turnovers on a nightly basis that other players might do just a couple times in their careers: - drive and fling over the backboard because he loses the ball while going up - drive, jump, and then flings the ball to a teammate that isn't there He surely misses the days when he had Steven Adams to dump off to for an easy assist

Trust me, if the stories past LBJ teammates have told are true, HE DOES. For example, JR Smith ain't NEVER gonna dribble out the clock anymore being tied. Another example, Ty Lou ain't NEVER gonna not call a time out when he has one with 8 seconds left and a chance to win the game. If reports are true, that is. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think I figured it out. Russ is a deep cover agent, commissioned back in his Thunder days with KD and Harden. They conceived a decade long operation to overcome Lebron James and win a championship together and they are on the final leg of their mission, KD and Harden met up in Brooklyn and now Russ has to infiltrate the Lakers and destroy them from the inside out but they betrayed him and now he's forced to go down with the ship. This is likely what's going on.

At end of trade dead line, Russ comes to the Nets and LBJ is stucked again with Kyrie who is even worst than first time. And they all evilly laugh in Nets, buahahahah, buahahahah, buahahahah. What has shocked me about him this year is his absolute lack of accountability. I don't think I've ever seen him act like he could do no wrong for the team. I actually think Kobe and Westbrook would have had better chemistry. Westbrook and Bron have a similar game. Bron just plays a lot smarter and he is the better athlete so he will always get what he wants in the game. With Kobe Russ wouldn't have to share point guard duties. Kobe would also rip him a new one whenever he gets a stupid turnover. And I believe he'd also show Russ the spots he'd be the most effective on the floor. Finally Kobe would get Russ to play a little more defense. Kobe was known as a selfish player. But his ball IQ was incredibly high. They'd still struggle for sure cause it seems Russ doesn't know how to slow down but it wouldn't be this bad. It's hard to adjust when you are an poorly skilled point guard with declining athletism.

Yeah thats true, i think Russ would learn ALOT from Kobes intelligence and since he was also one the best mentors to play the game but those unnecessary turnovers would drive Kobe crazy especially in crucial games where kobe thrives the most

the problem with russ is that he plays in such a reckless foolish way that makes life infinitely harder for his own team, and when he gets called out for it he takes it as a personal offense and gets defensive instead of actually taking accountability for his fuckups, egregious ones too at that. it’s the same mentality that’s caused his game to stagnate as he becomes less explosive, and it’s the same mentality that’s seen him come up short when it matters year after year after year. atp russ has to go, he offers more harm than good to this team and i’m tired of him making things more difficult for us due to his suspect decision making
