@@GarageDynamics don’t use any detergent based hydraulic oils, manual states to use non-detergent based hydraulic oil. Harbor Freight has Sta-Lube in stock and that is the correct oil to use.

Does the oil really go bad? What are the change intervals they recommend? I just added some oil to mine. I feel like mine wasn't lifting until after i pulled the handle pretty far. Didnt think the oil could be bad.

It's just like any other fluid, oil is oil and needs to be changed. It all depends on how often you use the jack. If you use it everyday I would suggest maybe once a year. I am about to do mine as it's been 3 years and it never really hit me that it needed to be done.
