Sorry about the crash. This is what the new generation of foam rtf is missing. When i was a kid you built a plane, hoped for the best. If you crashed it, you had to go home and fix it and try again. Not just buy another. The building and the unknown is what used to make our hobby a challenge and made you better. Determination is what our world is losing. Hope to see the next one very soon!! Good luck from the 🇺🇸!!

Many thanks for your positive comments 👍🏻 I think I may build an FW190 in its place 😉

Dang! Sorry to see your 109 hit the deck. Don’t give up on it till you’ve had a beer! I am always amazed at what can be repaired in the calm light of the next day. Meantime, I’ve just started converting my rubber-powered fleet to r/c, and I can report it’s been a fabulous success. First up was my 27” Ki-61 Tony. It weighed 31g before being converted, 88g after, (ready to fly with a 16g 2s 300mah battery). Flights last 15 minutes of half throttle cruising. It flies so slowly it really looks like the real thing. My 28” Wildcat was next: 50g before, now 122g ready to fly. The same set up but it prefers the weight of a 450mah. Flights last 12 minutes. I logged 7 hours on the Tony in its first week!! The only problem is that I now love flying these wee planes so much I’m thinking of ditching all my bigger ones! As soon as I find someone to video a flight I’ll make a video about the conversion. Good luck!

Do share that video when you get it! I’ve got larger kits to build but I do prefer this size now 😎

@@srknight307 Here's some rough footage I took while I was flying. It's not good enough for inclusion in a proper video, but it gives you a taster of the outcome of the conversion kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJLXdWuOnppsnbMsi=JdmmNAfPGv8TVFMJ.

Thank you! Hopefully the Fw 190 will fair better 🤞

the small wing depth produces a high surface loading . This is the difference to the other airplanes. You shoul make it lighter, take a smaller akku and a smaller motor an give the wing a little bit more V-Form. Don´t resignate 😁

Thank you, her electrics have now moved into the FW190 👍🏻

It did fly, and the take off was impressive. It would be good to know why it didn't want to turn, maybe too much torque, too much prop? Thank you for showing the reality of the hobby and not just the nice part! Looking forward to the next project!

Thank you, too much torque and not enough offset I think 🧐 Enjoying your builds too, keep up the good work 👍🏻

Sorry it didn't work out for you on this occasion, I know how you must feel. These smaller scale aircraft are challenging to fly.

Hi - thanks for the vid, lovely model. Did you add a touch of thrust offset to counter-act torque?
@srknight307 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. A little bit, not enough I think. I’ve just had the Spitfire motor off and added some more there too 🤞

Good luck - made a few Guillows kits back in the day, often thought about how well they'd take to rc conversion with today's tech - will be watching some of your vids now. Subscribed! @@srknight307
