Thanks for the comparison! I've had the Skmei over a year & it has become my daily wearer/beater despite a case of nicer watches. I really like the accuracy ( just a few seconds fast a month), and I really like the overall look, feel, & basic functions, plus it surprisingly satisfies as an alternative to the full metal G-shock. Also, it's so cheap I have no concerns about whether I destroy it, lose it, etc.

I bought an original Casio G Shock DW5600E-1 and Bought the Metal and Bracelet Casing design for it, it's made better than both the Skmei & Sanda. The end result you get original Casio Gshock movement that looks almost exactly the same as the GMW-B5000G-1DR. Of course, you still can't beat the price of skemei & sanda but for about US100 I will go the Casio route with the Steel Case & Bracelet.

Great review. I've had a Casio G-Shock m5600 tough solar for about 10 years, it's the best watch I've owned. After seeing your review I bought the skmei and sanda. I prefer the sanda as it's a closer copy of the Casio but it fails on a basic level. The wording on the screen is in the wrong position (light button is bottom right not top right) and "receiving" is pure fakery. At least the skmei is genuine in its features. At these rock bottom prices they are both a great buy though 👍

As a tiny wrist owner it seems I have to go for the Sanda here. As soon as I noticed how the end links didn't curve down as I wished on both these, I of course has to choose the one that's closest to my wrist. And the one that you could change the link/strap. My work horse companion is a G-Shock DW 5600 in all stealth black. It never lets me down, regardless what harsh environment it will experience at work with me. Also, that resin band conforms perfectly to my smaller wrist without a problem. I always thought though it would've been nice having a similar watch just for fun but little blingy in all metal. I would never pay the price for those metal Casios though, just to have an inferior version of my trusty work watch when it comes to durability. Hence these homages would fit perfect.
@MyAffordableWatchCollection4 жыл бұрын
That's a great point. I also have a DW5600, it's a really great work horse that you can beat around and it will survive anything. I wouldn't pay for a metal G-Shock either, so these two homages scratch that itch. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share your thoughts!
@3rdstone14 жыл бұрын
Damn, this turned out way longer that I intended to, but here we go. I got my Sanda quite recently, and I went for the black one with negative display. I had no expectations at this price but it's fun to compare to my trusty DW5600BB I use at work, which I managed to get at around $80 at a sale in my country (a good deal were I'm living). This one was bought just for fun, a watch that with it's colour theme and more shinier finish suits me when going to rock clubs etc (not much of that since quite some time though lol). I was expecting that the negative display would be quite hard to read on this one, and of course it's worse than the DW5600BB but the back light is fine so no real problems for me, considering the purpose for this watch. Otherwise the only thing I honestly can complain about for this ridiculously low price is the bracelet, especially the clasp. It's truly horrible lol. Seiko 5 and cheap Casio bracelets you're all forgiven lol. That little safety clasp wont ever stay in place. I've tried to squeeze it tighter with a couple of tools, but to no success. A positive thing though was that all the links except the ends on the bracelet were adjustable, important for me with a tiny wrist and quite uncommon. I wish more bracelets had that feature. I'm planning to get one of these ~ $5 clasps at Aliexpress which will be better than this abomination. Otherwise the watch is fine if you just want the looks (and basic functions) of a steel G-Schock style watch without paying the high price of the Casio ones (which are inferior to the original G-Schocks, the steel ones would be looking totally beat up at my work pretty quickly). G-Schock style watches in steel are more close to fashion watches for me. Which is perfectly fine. Oh yes, I also need to get a thin black sharpie pencil to take out the texts "sport watch" and "water resist" IN WHITE (!) on the bezel lol. OK, finally rant's over lol.

Definitely the Sanda 390 is overshadowed! It deserves more attention. While the case finishing looks better on the Skmei (the Sanda’s black text is less crisp), the backlight is better. I think the Sanda will also probably rust like the Skmei, so im also expecting that. Size-wise, theyre really close to each other. I know both won’t look good on my 6.25” wrist. I bought a SKMEI 1456 on AliExpress a couple months ago. It really didn't look as nice in person as it did on any of the seller pages. It took a little while for me to figure it out, but the whole front of the watch is flat. To be honest, it's downright ugly in person, and it's all because of the little bit of depth that it's missing. If the crystal was countersunk, just by a few millimeters, it would have made all the difference in the world. I've never owned a SANDA watch, so I have no idea how it looks in person as far as the crystal's depth is concerned. Quality wise, the SANDA just looks really cheap, so I can't imagine it's any better in person. On the back of the 1456, once you take the case back off, good luck snapping it back into place. I actually destroyed mine just putting the cover back on. When conventional methods failed, I had to go brutal on it. I reached the point where the watch was already garbage, so I wanted to see just how much it was going to take to get the cover back on. I tried hammering it... No good. I had to secure one side of the watch in a bench vise, and squeezed the other side with a large pair of Channel-Lock pliers to finally get that satisfying CLICK, which told me that the cover was finally on. On the plus side, with all the beating and hammering and crushing it took to get it back on, the movement is still in perfect condition, so there's always that to take away. Yep, the movement is still in the watch housing, and it all still works exactly how it's supposed to work, even though the watch is no longer wearable. I can't say anything about the SANDA, but by all means, avoid the SKMEI, which actually means a lot coming from me because I actually like most of the SKMEI watches I've purchased.
