The question in the title - I checked myself Tiguan allspace 7 seats version and kodiaq 7 seats version - if you look for 7 seats choose kodiaq, Tiguan really is suitable for 160 cm height in third row, kodiaq can suit for bit toller persons like 170-180. I believe author is around 190cm still can fit but in allspace 170 cm is not possible at all

I agree. Ive got the VRS diesel and its a great torquey engine, suits the SUV well, no idea why the petrol was considered a better option unless you own a petroleum factory

only ergo seats do, the standard sport seats don't. Ergo seats are an extra at quite a considerable amount of money.

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it had a mild hybrid petrol option. I like diesel, but sometimes I can go a month or so without a long drive and this has caused me DPF issues once or twice as they get more strict with diesel.

The rear seats are at the bottom, which is not typical for suv, but this is a platform heritage from the sedan, large central tunnel... okay, that is, but why do they make such high seats with a wide part for the headrest, they completely cover the whole view for rear passengers.

It doesnt share its platform with the Seat ateca nor the VW tiguan. It shares its platform with the Seat Tarraco and the VW tiguan Allspace.😉

I would argue that it’s generally better because there isn’t a lot that Tiguan has that Skoda does not. Tiguan has a 220HP model and is more amenable to chip tuning, but Kodiaq is more family-friendly (more space) plus Skoda offers lots more customizations that VW. The suspension of 2021 Tiguan is much better than Kodiaq - Kodiaq has very firm suspension which means great handling on the road but very poor management of small bumps, which is a bit annoying.

That’s actually a good thing. The Chinese Kodiaq already has sensor-operated climate controls, and so have higher-priced cars like the Q7. In my opinion, hardware climate control is much safer since you don’t have to look away from the road.
