People those who are commenting about Skoda maintenance are the ones who doesn't own a single Skoda/VW cars in life. A normal service like Oil Change, oil filter, AC filter, coolant,break oil etc doesn't cost more than Rs9,000 which is for 1 year or 15000km. Iam owing Skoda Rapid 1.6 Diesel for 5 years based on my true service experience.

Rapid rider is the entry level 1.6 MPI petrol model from Skoda. It has ABS, 2 Airbags, engine immobiliser , rear parking sensors etc. It is Value for money for the price it offers. The biggest plus is the build quality over its competitors. If you have monthly commute less than 1000 kms , you can absolutely go with it.

The Suspension is stiff for the Ride and Handling, but it's soaks the bad roads effortlessly. Skoda India will be replacing this 1.5 litre engine and DSG gearbox in April 2020 due to the the on upgradability of this engine to BS6 norms. You can absolutely buy this product . Skoda dealers have come a long way from their ill attitude.

Both Vento and Rapid are similar with engine and transmission options. The Petrol engine is the same 1.6L MPI unit in both the Vento and Rapid are same. Its a refined motor , but the realtime fuel efficiency will be the concern.

Thank you for the comments sir. As of now, Skoda Fabia will not come back to India. Skoda will launch the Sub 4m SUV Kamiq and the current Rapid will be replaced with a New Rapid built on a new chassy. The 1.5L Diesel engine will retire in April 2020 due to the BS6 emission norms. Skoda will launch a 1.0L TSI Petrol engine.
