100% agree. My top-specced Superb Estate is on order. Passat is expensive but has staid, tame, stuffy styling. Something for the well-heeled over 70's. Simply (& superbly) clever, Skoda!

Mercedes W205 yes it does. It's better looking than an E series, 5 series and A6. It's just glamorous and beautiful.

Honestly, one of the best value-for-money cars in the last couple years. For its price, its just a perfect all-arounder! Great-looking, affordable, comfortable, practical and darn economical.

Airport taxi drivers will love'm & I am one so I think the Octavia will get traded in for one next time. Absolutely love it it's an awesome car I'm on my third Skoda now and I'm not tired of them they jus get better n better I'd love a Lauren & Clemont Tdi Estate or the Se Business Edition model and by all accounts skoda have upped the auntie this time round. scorpionbeware Škodas are one of the most reliable of the VW group and it uses VW parts so they are cheap and easy to find. We have the 08 fabia and it hasn't broken down once. Just regular maintenance costs, fluids, breaks and rear shocks. Friend of mine bought the new Octavia RS and he's very happy with it.

We own a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI 2008 and we had exactly 0 problems whatsoever. It's a very generous car.

Nik Brudar Surely in Britain the availability of spares and dealership network is great however where in India where I currently live the servicing costs are high and dealership network is not great. I didn't mention that I am not living in Britain anymore so my comment was not in context to the British market.

+shockwave1xD Since forever? What looked like a sedan in the previous model actually had 2 hinge points for the boot. One button opened the boot like a sedan, but another button opened the whole back like a hatchback. Although I think they've dropped the double-boot feature for the new model, so it's just a normal hatchback.

It was a pretty cool design, a sedan body shape with hatchback practicality. But I think it was a bit too complex to bother continuing with so they dropped it I think

+shockwave1xD I know it's an old comment, but a hatchback, by definition, is a car where the rear window and bootlid are one part, so open together. A saloon has a static rear window, so only the bootlid opens.

Mark Williams Others are worse. I do agree though that it takes away some credibility by doing sponsorship reviews which made worse by disabling the comments for it. They could've and should've used other product placement other than cars for more money.

New Škoda cars are too expensive . They should have been entry level cars for VW group , not Audi competitors in terms of quality and style . It is too nice , too well made . It should compete with Dacia Logan MCV , not Audi A6 estate . Do not get me wrong , it is great , but in brand and pricing terms , it should be made as VW Passat , because new Passat is too expensive , and Škoda Superb should be big , cheap car with VW parts . The cheap car , not desirable car . And it should have 1.6D as top of the range . VW these days lacks true cheap car , and Škoda should be that . After all , read old Škoda jokes...

Mladen Milić Skodas aren't Audi competitors. Have you sat in an A6 Avant? They barely are VW competitors. They're very good cars with good quality and good prices but you can tell where the differences are. It's the same with Seats.

My uncle has Audi A6 Avant 2.0 TDI . Apart from being a bit quieter , it is no better than Skoda Superb . I am not a big fan of leather , and I like cloth more . Only difference between Audi and Skoda is that you can order Audi with monster V8 engine , fut for half of money you can have 4 wheel drive Skoda that is fast enough , has 80% of toys , 90% of quality and 120% of storage .

Mladen Milić Which A6 does he have? The latest model is massively better inside than the Superb. Maybe this is as good inside as an A6 from 2 generations back.

+Mladen Milić Audi A6 has better interior but the new Skoda Superb looks better from outside. I have seen them next to each other in a garage. The Audi looks dull compared to the Superb. No one even notices it, while they all pay attention to Superb. If Skoda had at least the new Passat interior there would be no reason to buy an Audi A6 or a VW Passat. And I'm not referring to the quality of the materials which is the same in all 3 cars, but more about the less exciting layout in Superb. Now as far as refinement is concerned there was a test between the new Skoda Superb and the latest Mercedes E-Class model. Apart from having almost identical noise levels even at high speed, the tester claimed Skoda as being more refined than the E-Class due to the more relaxing and comfortable setup. They even mentioned that Skoda is closer to the old values of Mercedes (like the ones present in the old 200series) than the E-Class itself, who's trying to be sportier. Enough said....
