Correction: Passat and Skoda models with 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI engines have the same 6-speed DSG/DCT. With both cars, all other engines (and also the largest Passat dual turbo Diesel engine) get the inferior and notoriously unreliable 7-speed DCT .

+Hans Olo The smaller engines use the 7 speed (DQ200, dry clutch) gearbox, indeed. However, this gearbox is rated up to 250 nm of torque only, obviously not enough for the strongest diesel with 500 nm. Therefor the 7 speed gearbox used on the 240 hp diesel is not the DQ200, but a completely different one (DQ500, wet clutch).

I like all of the special features Skoda has added. They've done an amazing job making the Passat their own. I'm wondering if there might be a software update. Most demo cars are forgotten and updates not done.

Hi Autogefühl Crew and Community. Nice Review of an nice Car. I Love the 2.0 litre Turbo Petrol engine, but this Engine don`t fit into this Car. I saw some Test`s from the B8 Passat with the 1.4 tsi act dsg, All the Testers said it is an good combination... Maybe this is the engine you need in the Superb, when you dont want a Diesel. 11 Liters with these GTI Engine... Its way to much for a Everyday Drive Car...

Dear Thomas, I really enjoyed the Skoda Superb video. I see that you have received many "superb" comments, so I won't add to your misery. ;-) I will just mention one thing that I hope will give you some perspective. The Skoda Superb - as you have mentioned - is a premium class sedan. It's not known or loved for its sportiness. I felt that you spent too long on the sport mode of the steerting and suspensions giving the whole video a negative Gefühl. It was not well balanced with the overall advantages and merits of the car. As you correctly pointed out, someone looking for something sporty might enjoy the Octavia (V)RS model better. You could have spent more time on highlighting the real benefits and value of the Superb. This is my personal opinion of course. I hope it helps. Great job! Keep it going. Best wishes, Govind

Excellent review, for a Superb car, as the name says and with the best room in her class, from this comparison and from the all middle segment, for a sedan version. Thomas I have two questions for you : 1) I don't understand from this video, when you pick the DCC for this car, it means automatically that it contains adaptive suspension and Driving Mode Selection with button inside the car, or it must be chosen separately, the all three things: DCC mode, adaptive suspension and the Driving Mode Selection Button? 2 ) What is your opinion about the combination 2.0 TDI 150 hp DSG Sedan Style, on this car, for everyday driving and also for the highway, it is powerful enough for a normal driving style, and for some overtakes on the highway ( not for sporty style ) and what do you think, it is also economically for 2.0 capacity and 150 hp ?

Comfort mode is good in city, on exprees road on corner it is too soft and car is flying! :D I felt the driffrence very good, under 120km/h comfort is very good. Quality of interior is better than in Passat in my opinion, and space is very huge! I love this car. Greetings from Poland :)

My UK Superb 2.0 TSI L&K is very noisy, both road and engine noise. So disappointing. I can only assume German L&K has extra sound insulation.

Most important part of a car are the tyres. I replaced the Pirelli tyres for Hankook K115s on my 2.0tsi to reduce road noise. Will always use these tyres.

As to the Škoda Superb - It was very sad to notice at 1min20sec mark the appalling crappy paintwork on the car's side near that Laurin&Klement insignia. Some years ago my sis bought Škoda Fabia with a very good original paintwork, so I am able to compare. The paintwork has definitely gotten worse.
