Skogsforum tests the "thinning crotch"

When thinning and logging manually with chainsaw facilitated the work if you can get up the trees a comfortable work height. You can use wood piles and felled trunks to bring up the working height but there are also tools. The latest in the line is a very simple and inexpensive product: Nordforest Thinning Crotch from Skogma (a daughter company to Grube). Skogsforum tests whether thinning crotch works.

Vi svetsade en klyka på brytjärnet och gjorde ett instick i stubben, ställde brytjärnet där och använde som bänk. Ska se om det står kvar här, blir bild då.

Right, it's nice invention and all- saves your back and knees probably, but setting it up takes some time, it probably could be used for several trees at one place but I imagine that it will actually reduce the daily production noticeably? Long story short- good product for a farmer to ease collecting firewood, but probably quite useless for professional lumberjack in daily work.

Exactly, who in the world has the time to mess around trying to make something like this during actual production based cutting? Obviously this is something that would be okay one was being given an hourly wage to play around.

Meh i just leave a thick enough hinge that the tree stays suspended and i can carry the saw on the tree.
