One thing about skrillex, at least his older stuff, was that it had a type of aggression that metal had, but it wasn't metal it was a cocktail of a bunch of genres of dance music, I knew somebody would do something like that, but I didn't know id be seeing them live at a festival in 2012. something about his stuff was very dark and very experimental, it didn't sound like everybody else at the time, or even today. It was amazing when this style first came out, because nobody expected it, and he really showed the world that could make some pretty badass shit with just a laptop and some knowledge of music production, first time I heard my name is skrillex and scary monsters ep, I was truly just blown away, because of how different it sounded, and how you could push the envelope of sound design to its limits, I couldn't belive those growls where from a fucking synthesizer, and I remember how every forum and school tried to reproduce his sound, and all his other member's on owslas roster, nobody could do it. Obviously now its possible, but I remember so hard trying to figure out how he did it. I had a friend of mine who worked as one of deadmau5 roadies, and he showed me a little of how to make the sounds, and my mouth dropped, it was so weird. Good memories, I hope soony releases so good new shit instead of his trap infused bull crap. Anyway.
