Good to hear your enjoying Europe, I spent 3 weeks last spring in Holland visiting family, its a great place to be. Make sure in Amsterdam to go to the Rijks Museum, its worth the time spent there. Great stories. When in Belgium you really have to watch out for the gypsies and beggars, they see us north Americans coming a mile away lol. Check out northrener.com for snus, you might get them to ship it to you. Also if you like cigars the dutch cigars or the dry dry style and are much cheaper than Cuban and a nice smoke. I'm Canadian so we can get Cuban cigars anytime lol. Take care, Phil

Most of the SNUS here in Norway is made in Sweden. It's also cheaper there.

Aaah I see and thanks for the tip. so whats you're major that required that trip to that particular destination? Are you going to that school because you selected it personally or can a scholarship have any part in determining where you attend? was there even any order to the trip or just a massive free for all? You definitely made it sound to be spontaneous. And you don't have to answer shit....I would not be offended seeing how I'm the one prying :-)

Nah, no worries you're not prying at all. It's kinda a long story, but the short version of it is this: I'm an International Business (IB) major, right? To major in IB at USC, you have to double major in another business discipline (for example, mine's Logistics and Supply Chain Management). Of my three roommates, one's Accounting, one's Economics, and one's Marketing/Management. Once you get into the IB program (which is capped at like 120 people per year), you're required to study abroad in the Spring of your Junior year. Once you get in during Spring of Sophomore year, you start the process of picking four schools from a list of like 50 universities around the world, listing them in order of preference, writing a bunch of essays, submitting a bunch of paperwork, and then waiting. Ultimately, the exchange placement committee in USC's business school determines where you'll go, but you obviously still have to get in to the other university. The only reason I ended up in the Netherlands, and Rotterdam more specifically, is because it's is a huge port city and supply-chain hub with a rising Muslim population and offices of companies like Royal Dutch Shell, Saudi ARAMCO, and a ton of petroleum companies I'd like to work for. Erasmus was actually my first choice, but had it not worked out, I'd potentially be in Marseilles, Copenhagen, or Dubai instead. There was definitely some order to the trip (because the Dutch are like that) but we'd been doing like student visa stuff, insurance switching, bank information, finding a place, etc. since like September so it definitely wasn't just pick up and go to Europe haha.

how did you afford your trip if you don't mind me asking? was it a school thing...?
@hrfalcons2211 жыл бұрын
No worries! I got pretty lucky getting scholarships and whatnot, to be honest. Studying abroad is required for my major, so South Carolina's business school placed each student in our program in one of like 60 partner schools around the world. Since most of us are on scholarship, we pay less than South Carolina in-state tuition to the partner school, plus whatever scholarship money we received. Also had some savings accounts just from working at school and from money my parents/grandparents gave me for graduation for traveling and such. Point is, you don't have to be rich to take a trip around Europe, or anywhere else for that matter. Check out discount airline sites like Kayak, Ryanair, Jetblue, etc. and other websites like Couchsurfing.com, I think you'd be surprised how cheap some stuff can be. I've found round trip flights to some cool European cities for like $75.

Yes. Any dipper worth his weight in salt and who's actually acquainted with other forms of smokeless tobacco used by the bona-fide badasses of Scandanavia (google search 'Norwegian Military FSK') and which were around long before American dip will respect this and want to try it
