2600 for the pc and music...2700 and 2730 perfect for the tv connected via optical..that boomy bass is perfect for movies...you wont need a sub...i love both.

R2600 , simple, a little bit plain bass but clear voice, nice listening and easy on ears, simple to the eyes R2730DB , a lot of clarity in low levels not to mention the deep low notes too, well accomplished

These would have looked so much classier with black speaker cones. Anyway, the 3-way system (R2730DB) sounds more neutral. The other one seems a bit muffled.

Contrary to what one can expect by the looks the 2700 has LESS mids in spite of having a dedicated middle driver..the 2600 sounds more midrangy here..but very easily moddifiably by eqing. Both sound similar. I have both..the 2600 in the desktop pc and the 2700 in the tv due to its optical imput....2600 should have digital imputs too.

Here, without actually analyzing enough, seems to me that the R2730 mids sounds clearer and "better" while the R2600 sound midrangy as you say but not with good mids, just the coloration (?), overall "eq" or sound signature it has. What do you think?

they both sound similar i am very happy with the 2600s in the pc (with sounblaster ZX soundcard ) and the 2700 in the tv connected via optic, movies and dialogues sound really good, the 2700 can really surprise you with their bass capabilities (put bass control at max) in a small room you dont need a sub..both are great for the price, and they can fight head to head with 500 dollars studio monitors, here our friend showed that in other videos. ..just go and try them in a store., remember 2600 dont have digital optical and coaxial inputs..2700 do...2730 has bluethoot also, i would not use 2700 or 2730 as studio monitors but they are great for music listening and movies so...2600 for the pc and 2700 for the tv. imho and experience of course. cheers pal.

yeah the 2700 is more basey and the 2600 is better in the mids. Personally i would take the 2600 if i had a sub and the 2700 if i didnt....

It would be interesting to see the tests: Thornet Vander Kugel, Sven Royal 2R, Sven Stream Mega In Russia, Sven Royal is highly respected, although this model has already been discontinued. Thornet Vander Kughel received good feedback from experts. Thornet Vander has a wide range of large speakers, but they are absolutely terra incognito, no one knows how they sound.

I must say that 2600 has or can have by equing way much more bass and treble than this video suggests..for the money they are incredible..just plug them to a quality soundboard or external dac. The 2600 muffled?? Or lacking bass?? No way..just eq.

I find it a little unfair to judge "the best", in each song presented was evident the strengths and weaknesses of each. In general the R2730 presented mid and high more delicate and refined but its bass is boomy. I think that for small environments the R2600 is the best choice. But many claim that speakers with this kind of bass look great with a foam placed in your duct. Note that this is not to reduce the bass, this would be easily achieved using the control knob. In fact the foam would "equalize" the bass, making them tighter. I would like to do this test.. I believe that the R2730 has the potential to be one of the best monitors for its value.

dear friend you say they hiss at idle.... what?? no hiss at all.. 2600 are totally silent in my pc with soundblaster ZX soundcard..and 2700 in a tv via optic. sometimes i forget they are on and then baaaam they scare the sh...out of me...really. check your cables, soundcard etc they are mice dead.

Listening through R2700, it seems like R2730DB is more hi-fi'ish, v-shaped while R2600 is more flat, mid-dominant and lacks low-end.

I am the owner of 2600 for about 5 years. And I never liked that sound. Although the 2600 was my first big 2.0 column, after the 2.1 system. And I immediately noted that the bass is much better here than in the subwoofer. The bass is good and purebred. But everything else, mids, treble and stereo sounds are pretty bad. On average, it seems like there is a dip, the high frequencies are quite ordinary and dirty. But the bass is good, really good, clear, large-scale and not buzzing. But in general, this sound is completely no inspirational and not musical. There is no involvement in the music, it is more suitable for the sound of the movie. In addition, the sound is a bit harsh, as if compressed. In the sound of these speakers there is not a drop of elegance, softness, musicality. It is a cold, prickly and dull sound. I would give these speakers 2 points out of 10. An interesting fact is that there is a “warm-up” moment when you buy these speakers, then for 2 weeks the sound is worse than it should be. And gradually after two weeks of operation, the sound becomes better than out of the box. what am I comparing with? I have 2.0 speakers Sven sps-704 , they are cheaper, smaller, maybe their sound is a bit dirtier, but there is a "volume, airiness" sound, and involvement in music. This is a musical sound. Later I had Tornet Vander Kughel, these speakers leave no 2600 any chance. Kugel sounds great for its class, passionately, Musically, three-dimensional, and sounds like a KRK monitor. Soft and warm sound. But Kugel has a mediocre bass, which has the ability to hum. And the 2600 has excellent bass control and scale. However, for Kugel, I would rate 5 out of 10, and 2,600 only 2 out of 10 Provided that 10 out of 10 is the best hi fi. In addition, I have a Aiwa nsx-999 mk1 music center early 90s , and it sounds even slightly better than Kugel. In defense of the 2600, I can say that they have an attractive design.
