Listening through DT 770's...I'd say the Focal's stay fairly 'true' to the source track. A 'wider' image than the Tv7s yet less clear in the highs.

I like the stereo field of the Focals more, also they are somewhat closer to the source material in my opinion (listening through JBL 305P MKII).

I really hope you would test the RCF Ayra Pro and Tannoy Reveal lines. I have recently gotten a new set of monitors, and those two were very affordable options that I considered. I got to test the Reveal which I found really good for the money, but eventually got some Genelecs as my budget changed... But I couldn't find any decent review or set of RCF Ayra Pro to test

Focals have the vent on the front, much easier to place when space is an issue, should be a must for all monitors as they are supposed to be near you, not everybody have 1 meter space behind the desk

It's a designer choice, port can resonate (and fart) which colours the sound if front mounted. Also all speaker should be 1 meter from the wall regardles the port. Port itself is fine if it has 5cm of air gap.

A front ported monitor should also be placed 1 meter from the wall. There still will be bass build up if a front ported monitor is close to a back wall.

Adams tweeter has a lot more detail. Adams woofer sounds similar but has deeper bass.

focals cover broader spectrum range more fully. Adams have more brilliant high end end flat balance. Focals are better on their own but with the money saved on the t7vs you could get a sub and cover every frequency.

To my ears, through my equipment, they sound similar. I think that that the Focals are slightly better, but that may be just my bias. Of the Adam TxV series I liked the T8V best. So I wonder how the Focals compare with the Adam T8V (of course the bass frequencies of the Adam will reach much lower)? Thank you for another great comparison! 👍🏼

Listening through Audeze LCD-X->Denafrips ares 2->Master19 amp The T7V is slightly and I mean ever so slightly more 'natural' sounding in the highs, but not $300US/pair higher. I'd give the edge to the Adam audio on the highs, everything else is too similar. There's a difference but not a $300 difference.

The focal's woofer is more precise and smooth, with not so much artificial punchiness and closer to the source. And the opposite is happening with the tweeters, the adams has that character more while the focals is more ''resonant''. Slight characteristics ,no one has actual problem. Overall i think the focal has a bit more fidelity and precision (love the adams highs though). They sound to me very close as eq colour signatures but with different transient responces per frequency. I listened to them through DT770, this are my perception through those

I've recently heard Evo 50, i quite like it. Didn't believe the price when they say it. Impressive monitors for sure. Then i tried iLoud Precision 5, huge difference especially at the low end and DSP plays it's tricks at it's fullest. But for $275 each, i say Evo 50 is a no brainer. I want to hear Genelec 8030C side by side, given the models age but knowing the heritage and quality of Genelecs. I wouldn't prefer Adams they seem bright but again, i didn't hear them in real life.

wow . I never heard the Adam TV7 .. Listen to this Video on Beyerdynamik DT 1990 Pro. both sounding very similar. the Focals are good .. but for me to much warm and bassy and a little bit like a plastic can.. so the Adams sounds more direct and natural. really good for the prize . maybe I bye a pair .. next to my Neumann KH 120.. 🤔

in person sonically there is no comparison. ive owened both. The focal evo''s are on par with the adam A7 series monitors. I instalntly noticed the difference in sound and build quality. Trust those front mounted ports make a major difference.

So, I just heard both of these at a music store and the Focals blow the Adams out of the water undoubtedly, so much so that this comparison on KZbin sounds ridiculous. First and foremost the Focals have 3D sound compared to the Adams, the soundstage is bigger in all aspects - it's wider and has a sense of verticality and depth that the Adams seem to lack. Instrument separation is also much better, which I didn't expect based on people online saying that Adams are very analytical. The bass on the Focals is phenomenal - it spreads in front of you and beneath you, is punchy while being really tight and basically has an entire soundstage of its own. And in all that it doesn't overwhelm you, the monitor does in no way sound bass heavy, although it is bass focused, if that makes sense. In comparison the bass on the Adams sounded very narrow, had no sense of verticality, it was punchy but very, very muddy and loose. The highs were a closer match, of course the Adams provided some extra detail thanks to the ribbons, not so much so that it blew my mind though. They also weren't as present and lacked the 3D effect of the Focals, so overall they lose this round as well, despite the whole marketing around the tweeters. Overall, both of these monitors are a bit hyped in the high and low end, lack clarity in the mids and aren't very high resolution, don't expect to hear details you can hear on headphones for example. I also listened to the Focal Shape 50s and they really were on another level. They kept the characteristics of the Alpha EVOs for the most part and on top of that they had a bit wider soundstage, their mids were on point and there was so much extra detail across the spectrum that I've only heard in headphones before. The downside of course was the smaller woofer, but I guess the Shape 65s should pack that punch that I loved about the Alphas, albeit at double the price.

T7V again not play correct. I have never see a Studio Speaker again he have this issuse. Maybe without measurements tools impossible to level correct and DS Audio have a SPL Meter. But thanks for the Video👍👏

A friend of mine has expensive Focal floor standing speakers. First thing I noticed was the same you mentioned: it sounds like it is out of phase. Probably a “signature sound design” for all Focal speakers (whether it be studio monitors or consumer loudspeakers). The hifi set costed him a lot of money but I personally cannot listen to this weird out of phase, stereo-ish soundstage. It’s really awful. I feel bad for him.

Seems like even though I don't like the Evo range it delivered better response than the t7v. I still prefer old alpha 65 🦾
