I have a Russian girlfriend so as proper procedure goes, I show her this. She says she hates the stereotype of Russian composition being this and I quote "This Viking Volga Boatmen shit" and then when I TRIED to convince her it was Capulet's and Montague's she said "This is nowhere near, it's not cheery!" Sooo...maybe this music does sound a little stereotypical...she said she was expecting Tchaikovsky because of his fame! Honestly, I love this song for Russia because I agree with you, but she has SERIOUS national pride for her country so I guess you could say I saw both sides of the coin but TO the point. I agree the composition has the feel of Russian downfall AND triumph, but on the other they should have went with Tchaikovsky because of his fame and as a pioneer of musical culture.

Though she usually have another lover along with Potemkin(on the later part of their relationship), it is after they agreed to have an open relationship. often times, it was actually her lovers who often have affairs, because she was too busy, but demanding of attention when she wants it. some of her lovers were not allowed to have visits from relatives.

Fan service. Wu Zetian ruled when she was 60, yet looks 31. In vanilla, they thought they would make sales by depicting female leaders in their sexiest ages. The Gods and Kings came with Maria Theresa. They then learned that the Civ V community was mature enough to not be a bunch of horny teenagers, so then Maria I was depicted in her appropriate age. I do believe Maria I and Isabella I are the only female leaders properly depicted...given appropriate evidence. Boudicca is unknown, considering her age was probably just glamorized (it's "bad" enough imagining a woman warrior, now imagine an old woman warrior). We don't even know if Dido existed. Otherwise, Catherine, Elizabeth, Wu Zetian, maybe Theodora, Maria Theresa, they are all portrayed younger than they actually were during their high times of rule.
@petriksaksamaa10 жыл бұрын
Melon Lord Theodora lived around 48 years. She married Justinian around the age of 25 and was described with being beatiful,witty and amusing, so I'd say she's pretty accurate. Russian Empire did'nt dream about this. 3) The most powerful industry, which allowed the USSR to live successfully in isolation from the Western world and allow the country to carry out their own space program. It's worth noting that the country at the time of the arrival to power of Stalin was ravaged by revolution and civil war. Industry actually was created from scratch. 4) The main achievement of Stalin - the victory in WWII. In this difficult time the country needed a strong leader with a firm hand. Otherwise the whole world would now spoke German. Hitler with his ambitions and cruelty led his country to ruin. Stalin with his ambitions and cruelty led his country to the power and the glory for many years. That is why Stalin in the Russia is not like Hitler. I know I'm 8 years late, but just in case others are reading this: Not only was the Wilhelm II raised in England, he was related to Queen Victoria II. Before the collapse of the German Empire there was a plan to have Wilhelm II appoint her as his heir (over his son) specifically because her name was Victoria Louise, which would let them coronate her "Victoria III" and add a giant boost to the monarchy's power (which they were aware they'd need after the destruction the Great War was causing). Obviously, this didn't pan out as they'd hoped.

It probably would be more historically correct to use "Let Be Heard the Roar of Victory!" as Catherine theme kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaXFe3Vof95kn80 But they are calling her "our tender mother" there, so it would fit Civ3 Catherine more.

I miss Holland in this game, great for a naval force. Just add Wilhem of Orange or his son Maurits and I'm happy.

@SovietLenin1 Comrade Lenin, I'd like to see that be a DLC more than the birth of my future children. Of course they'd be required to add Scotland, Tibet, and Srivijaya in there at some point as well.

@Citylife10 i know right!! in civ 6, i hope they do leaders according to timeline, like in medieval era, they could have ivan the terrible for russia, then in the 1600's they could have peter the great, then in 1700's they could have catherine, 1800's alexander i, then nicholas ii as the final leader till the end of the game

Funny how the Order Policy, that contains Socialism, Planned Economy, and Communism are still kinda powerful for big empires....Communism, in the Civ games, has always been strong.... I think in Civ 2 or 3... not sure which... it was the most OP social engineering choice.

I like to imagine the chants of the men and women of the background are more lost or trapped souls, enslaved and victim to the tyranny and unjust treatment that has always dominated their peoples existence, while they will and cannot be heard singly, they will always be in strength in numbers.

You can't defeat the Aztecs. Grijze Pilion (me) and the Aczecs (from Aczetium) are immortal.... or... wait.... it could also be that every AI is my friend (especially Catherine - and her attractiveness doesn't stop me from trying to ruin her economy by buying her cities. (And her eyes look weird when she looks to the right.) I noticed that the only place in the scene where you can see your slightly transparent cursor, is at her .... well - you know what i'm saying!

This theme sounds like a sad moment for Russia or it sounds like the Russians are just calming you so you can let them go into your territory.
